Hi guys, early on in the RotRL campaign I introduced a npc who likes collecting swords and gives a slightly better price than market value for them (60% instead of 50%).
Now I want to find the ball park of dropping interesting, useful and creative swords for the party as side quests/treasure drops but I certainly don't want to throw out the delicate economy balance.
So what I'm asking is for low price swords made of different materials, with different descriptions and histories behind them.
Max price 8.500 GP, ideal price range 300 to 4000 GP.
Current party (Lvl 2) consists of:
Dual wielding Ninja
Monk
Cleric of Desna
Druid
Evoker

...its not just a masterwork ninja-to...its the sword that was forged by the great kami smith Kamiko Torinaga for her lover Ohaiyo Gozaimasu Betonamu who went on to found the fox ninja clan. With this very blade, he slew the undead Daimyo Namata - if you look closely, you can still see the nick where the Liches amulet phylactery tried to resist the blow. It is said any bearer of the blade is destined to face his greatest fears three times, and if victorious, will be honoured throughout the land..but if they reject or discard their blade, tradegy will strike not just them but all they hold dear...
Masterwork ninja-to, non-magical steel with interwoven silver pattern, ignores DR when combating undead (only) ; gives wielder a 25% chance of bing recognised in any town with a strong ninja clan or thieves guild presence ; +2 morale bonus to intimidation and diplomacy checks if the blade is recognised due to its prestige. +2 morale bonus vs fear effects if the user is a ninja aware of its history. Sentient undead will treat the wielder as particularly dangerous foe.
Apart from its effect on undead DR, its totally non-magical, all other effects are purely psychologicsl.

Hekimus' Gladius, called Hekimus' Anger by the Bugbears of the Menador Mountains, was forged long ago by Taldor swordsmiths, for the great general Erasmus. When the general fell in battle, a captain formerly under his command took up his sword and led his troops to victory. This captain was known as Hekimus Half-elven and he wielded the sword through many campaigns and conquests.
The sword, despite being battle-worn, does not show any sign of its great age. It sports a wooden haft, ending in a pommel, shaped in the visage of a lion's head.
Stats:
Hekimus' Gladius is a +1 Bronze Gladius. Unlike other Bronze Weapons it does not possess the fragile quality, and in fact has double the hardness and hp of a +1 bronze Gladius. As long as the edge is kept sharp, the sword shows no outward sign of age, but if blunted (which takes considerably more effort than with other such swords), it becomes apparent that this blade many, many years old(halve its hardness, until resharpened). If sharpened again, it returns to its pristine form.

There once was a kingdom forgotten
at the core it was blackened and rotten
Its children malnourished
Its pantheon purist
And its people in pain and downtrodden.
In this kingdom of foulness so foul
with monsters and beast on the prowl
Lived a wizard so wise
In a castle of ice
And when he looked out, he would scowl
And the lords of this kingdom, though frauds
wielded power and malice like gods
They were nobles and sages
And scholars and mages
Of the sort the demented applauds.
Wishing all of creation controlled
drove the lords of the land to grow bold
So they sent for the wizard
To come out of the blizzard
And come for his lords to behold
In the sanctum of lords so abhorred
The wizard was placed in a ward
He'd be locked in a tower
'till a symbol of power
He'd fashion, the shape of a sword.
But the wizard with rage unforgiving
would not vest a doom on the living
So instead in his jail
wrought a terrible bail
Of most dreadful and dark misgiving
He presented a sword, broken bladed
more a spear with a hilt, he'd created
And the lords would yell doom
Darkness and gloom
Dissapointment, with hate, would be sated.
And the lords of the black land saw red
They demanded the wizard made dead
But the nobles and sages
and scholars and mages
Would fall on his sword in his stead
And so came to dawn a new age
noble, mage, scholar or sage
That would rule in this time
Would do so sublime
Out of fear of the blade called Yraes.
Stats:
Yraes appears to be nothing more than an unassuming, shattered longsword, its blade broken to a long, pointed shiv. Yraes is not a weapon made for combat, but rather devious magical trap.
1/month anyone who demands the life of another sentient creature be taken, while within 30 feet of Yraes, is subjected to a potent Mind effect (DC 18) compelling them to pick up the blade and attempt a coup de grace on themselves with it. Attacking with Yraes is done with a -1 penalty, and the sword deals 1d6-1 damage and has a 20/x2 crit range.

The Rapier Case of Aldo Nadi
Aldo Nadi was once one of Taldor's most famous duelists. He disdained the traditional dueling sword in favor of a well balanced set of rapier and dagger. The two weapons (and the silk lined rosewood box that they come in) have been passed from master to student and victim to conqueror for many generations.
Both weapons have red leather wrapped grips wrapped in gold and silver wire. The mithril blades make both weapons exceptionally fast and someone who practices with the matched pair finds that each seems to make the other weapon lighter, faster, and more maneuverable.
+1 mithril rapier and +1 mithril dagger
when use in conjunction, they grant the wielder a +2 on CMB/CMD vs light weapons or finessible weapons.

The Feral Branch
Elves are a mysterious lot, and this longsword with a kris knife style wavy blade was forged by the same elves to fend off other worldy creatures that have invaded this universe. It's cold iron construction included quenching in a mixture of mud and oak leaves to ground it squarely into Golarion. The green weapon is feared by gnomes across the land.
Mechanics: Masterwork Cold Iron Longsword that deals +1 Damage vs. Fey and Gnomes, stacks with Bane. Price 1330gp (300 for MW, 30 for Cold Iron, 1000 for the extra damage)

Sword of the Red Doom: +1 longsword, +2 vs Hobgoblins; 3050 gp
Wielded by adventurers when a group of hobgoblins planned to take over the land of Vale. This sword aided them in defeated them and their draconic masters.

Hawkblade: +1 longsword, +3 vermin: 4.8K gp
Though sharp of edge, the blade of this sword is otherwise unremarkable. The hilt has inlayed pieces of jet and malachite. The pommel is shaped like the head of a hawk

The Four Brothers
During the Third Crusade of Karnoss there were four poor brothers in the town of Erdanstadt who took up the fight against the vile fey. Each chose a different path of adventure:
Gieran, the eldest, was squired to the holy knight Sir Tavin of Dunspar and traveled far afield with his master
Bruhnn, the second, was a bit of a brute and joined a team of mercenaries called the Ironmourn Legion
Hyllvid, the third was a great thinker and so he apprenticed to a cabal of wizards at Arabellyn and from there made many excursions into the Hagsworn Swamps
Ivadd, the youngest was a rogue and a scoundrel but a scholar of the history of the land; he became an independant adventurer and then an archaeologist in the Archivist's Guild of Izmok
The four brother ranged all across the lands of Karnoss until their mother took ill. They returned to Erdanstadt to learn they had a common enemy in the form of a Fellgrave Sidhee known as The Pale Man. He'd brought a plague of undead to Erdanstadt and in the end the brothers could do nothing but avenge their dear mama.
So it was that, in the wake of the destruction of the Pale Man, the brothers had four masterwork daggers commissioned. These knives are identical, save for their pommels. Each has a cold-iron blade set in a bone hilt. The blades are tinted with a scarlet color from their forging and this muted hue matches the red thong wrap on the handle. Each blade is now referred to by their original owner:
Gieran: the pommel of this dagger displays a horse rampant on one side while the other is the holy symbol of the brother's god, Abadar. This +1 dagger can be commanded 3/day to sheathe it's wielder in a faint holy aura which protects them from harm (+2 Deflection bonus; 1 minute duration)
Bruhnn: the pommel of this dagger is marked with the twin symbols of the Ironmourn: a boar and an iron spear. This +1 dagger can be commanded 3/day to provide a sudden surge of strength (+4 Str bonus; 1 minute duration)
Hyllvid: the pommel of this dagger is stamped with an arcane eye as well as a hand of the apprentice; each is adorned with tiny arcane sigils. This +1 dagger 3/day can be commanded to channel eldritch energy into all the attacks of its wielder (+1 damage on any attack requiring an attack roll; the source of the damage is considered magic for the purposes of DR or other defenses; 1 minute duration)
Ivadd: the pommel of this dagger is emblazoned with a shadowed cloak on one side while the other shows a padded foot. This +1 dagger can be commanded to mute the light and sound around its wielder and shield them from their enemy's notice (+10 bonus to Stealth; 1 minute duration)
The brothers parted company once more after their mother's soul was at rest and their home was safe. But they made a promise: to ever be in each other's thoughts and prayers. They would often pass through Erdanstadt on their future adventures and leave word to one another there. Once per year, on the eve of their dear mama's passing, they would meet at the Highmoon Pub in the heart of the sleepy town to share one another's company and it is said that, though they never knew it, the brothers met their ends in battle at the exact same moment.
So it is that their living bond endures in the weapons that bear their names. When all four knives are brought close their powers mingle and serve all the weapons' masters at once (when a power of one of the daggers is active if all four weapons are possessed by 4 different users, any or all of the users may take advantage of the active power or powers during the duration so long as they are within 30' of the active dagger)

Magical weapons would start with +1 enhancmenet bonuses in general, which puts them at least (2000gp+weapon cost)
Although you could always go the weird angle.
The Dagger of the Vain Student: This magical dagger has no enhancement bonus and functions like a normal dagger. However, it provides a +4 diplomacy bonus when carried by a wizard who makes it his focus. (Approx value: 400gp)
Kama of the Harvestman: +1 kama that grants a +4 bonus to profession(farmer) checks (value's about 3600 (2000 for the +1 plus 1600 (4X4*100 for the enhancment)+the cost of the kama)
Katar of Blinding Defense: +1 punch dagger that provides a +2 deflection to the user when its drawn (2000gp (from the +1 enhancement) + 4000gp for the deflection bonus + cost of weapon)
Or even ridiculous stuff like a +1 longsword that gives +4 to handle animal checks with dogs, because the sword is animal like sentient and possessed by a spirit of a border collie.
Possibilities for relatively cheap stuff are endless man.

I don't know anything about RotRL, so I'll leave the lore to someone else. Here are some minor magics in less than perfect formatting.
The Shadowcast Blade
A +1 short sword that can create an ebony duplicate of itself, which vanishes as soon as you release it.
The Good Point
This +1 Rapier allows you to once per day reroll either an attack roll or a diplomacy check and use the second result.
The Spark-Knife
This +1 Dagger creates a shower of sparks whenever it strikes another metal surface. If in combat the user misses (non-intentionally) a target that is metallic or wearing medium or heavier metal armor, the target takes 1d6 fire damage.

Genesis and Nemesis: Genesis and Nemesis are a pair of kukris that legend holds were once made by a pair of brothers. One was Tristan, a cleric dedicated to life and healing, and other Ferrick, a cleric dedicated to death and undeath. When they were children, their abusive father fell ill and the brothers fell out over what action they should take. Ferrick wanted to let the man, who made their lives and the life of their departed mother hell, die. Tristan wanted to help and heal their father to give him a chance to mend his ways. After a great fight, Tristan decided to put the matter into the hands of the town’s priest, a man dedicated to Irori. While his brother was away, Ferrick realized that the priest would favor healing their father, which he could not abide. Ferrick plunged their family's heirloom kukri into the heart of his father and fled the village, afraid his brother and the priest would call in the watchmen.
Eventually, each of the two brothers took up the cloth; Tristan was mentored by the cleric of Irori, Ferrick found sanctuary in the tutorship of cultists dedicated to Norgorber. Each rose up through the ranks of their respective priesthoods and each became forces to be reckoned with. Eventually, Tristan learned of the fact that his brother had fully turned his back to life, turning himself into a lich. Unable to abide the fact the Ferrick forsook his soul and the lives of others, Tristan enchanted his father’s heirloom kukri to be able to kill his brother by infusing it with positive energy. Learning of his brother’s quest through his network of spies, Ferrick made a twin blade, a kukri infused with negative energy, to meet his brother in kind. After a long and torturous duel, the brothers killed each other by plunging their respective kukris in each other’s chests. Unlike the two brothers, the two blades have never been separated since.
Genesis and Nemesis are both masterwork +1 kukris, half the damage of each counts as positive or negative energy respectively. Each blade will become dull and useless when separated from the other; when not within 30 feet of each other, the blades lose their magical abilities, masterwork nature and gain the fragile quality.
Estimated value ~3000 gp each?
