Happy 2nd birthday to your daughter! :)
Yikes two ofb us down! :/
You too? Did you heal the 12 HP from Tatiana? If you maintained your HP under your avatar, it would help me keep you on your feet.

You are on track to kill it before the Barons arrive :S
I didn't saw that one coming...

Seems you don't know when you are fighting a fight you are supposed to lose... and keep winning it :P
If I can make a recommendation get your characters near the owlbear before it dies ;)

Did someone send me an email? I saw an email on my spam box for a second before I clean it up about Kingmaker! :S (Sorry for that)

Heya people,
This is one of those uncanny, strange situations when Real Life takes precedence over gaming - just today I started on a new job, a real challenge that I think may actually change things for me (and my family) in the future.
It is IT related [one if my areas of expertise I guess ;)], and most likely means soon I will be sitting in front of a laptop on my own, with enough autonomy to spend my time as I see fit - improving in my ITIL knowledge, posting on one of my numerous PbP games, whatever...
The thing is, I need to commit to this one, so it means some serious decisions regarding my games - I simply cannot stick with all of them, so I have taken the decision to stick with my oldest games, ones I have committed to long ago, and which have stuck with me for a looooong time.
Corsario, what you are doing is simply amazing. The level of commitment to this game is something honestly out of the ordinary, and I can only hope to someday live up to it. But not right now - I am going to drop out of your game, in spite of admiring your work, and the group of players you have managed to gather.
I can only hope me leaving will be something quickly assimilated, and look forward to the chance of having an opportunity to play with you all in a near future, RL permitting.
I am honestly sorry for dropping out... I wish you all a great game (and I am sure it will be so), and Corsario, thanks for giving me a chance of playing in your game - it was honestly worthwhile.
Thank you all again.

Edeldhur, sorry to see you go. It has been fun playing up until this point. I hope that your new job helps you in RL, and that you are able to keep playing PF, on pbp and in RL, as much as possible. While I cannot speak for the others, if you find that you need to pick up another game, please look us up. I expect that this one will keep going for a while and having another Wizard/Ranger combo is always fun, even if playing the same classes has resulted in completely different builds and characters.

Edeldhur: I am happy for you because of this new opportunity, and I wish you all the best. But at the same time I am really sorry to see you go. I guess that is the bad part of getting to know your characters and plan ahead for them... when you leave I get a hole behind in the campaign.
So I will do this... Edeldhur will stay "in the background" doing magical research, and Daliedhur and her crows will stay back as wardens of
Sloboda. Not gone, but in the background.
I see most campaign as TV Series, with Seasons and Episodes. Well, Edeldhur and Daliedhur will pass from "regular cast" to "guest stars". If you ever want to game a little with them, you are welcome back, if even for only an episode or two.
And if in some months you want to rejoin for the travel back to the First World, and the final Nyrissa fight, that would be great! I will keep you posted.
Have fun, and good luck!

Ok, about Kingdom Building:
You tell me what you want to achieve, and I tell you what you need to make it happen (who you need to get in bed to make it happen, time, adventures, resources, etc.)
About Downtime:
Each character can have, if he chooses to, a business / organization, as well as an organization / support team. Is not going to get you a GP for your character, will only serve for Role-Playing purposes (for Example, in Maria's case she can choose to have a Bordello and a spy-network). Not mandatory, only if you want to.
About Leadership feat:
You can have a cohort, if you want to. It's not going to help in combat (you don't need help there), and he won't help you craft stuff (I think you don't need help crafting anyway). Your cohort is for Role-Playing purposes only. The followers are part of your "organization / support team" as mentioned in the Downtime part.
The Cohorts can't be any of the NPC I have already established (That means the Four Swords, Maria Borgnok, the Leventons - specially Vodyanoy, Elpida from the Cenobitic Monks, Anando Verisisi can't be your cohorts. You will need to imagine your own :P). That doesn't mean you can't interact with them, ally with them, fight with them, bed them or marry them. Please fell free to include them in your plans, or even send them on missions (so they fail and you need to go rescue them ;) ) But the rest of the campaign is about your characters and not the NPC's, so they are only relevant as long as they are relevant to your characters.
Any other question?

BTW: I am adding a new player to the campaign... I meet him at another game, liked his style, and invited here when it our other campaign died.
Take a look:
Estrid Frostbane
Serrin Greenseer
What do you think?
| Venetia Medvyed |
Love this...Estrid's profile wrote:(Maintains the form of a medium air elemental, using her Hat of Disguise to appear human)
hmm, that is asking a bit much out of a hat of disguise. A hat of Greater disguise maybe, but a hat of disguise is only a permanent disguise self.
Corsario
|
It would be a very good disguise, but a disguise nevertheless. It would look really weird... Sounds like fun... I have to check the ramifications.
| Halcorg |
My main concern for Estrid would be her alignment. I know few players capable of playing CN intelligently and being able to work with a group. If the player is capable of this, then no problem. Remember, we have a LG paladin in the group. Almost anything a CN does is likely to be against the vows of the paladin.
Corsario
|
Don't worry, I'll sort that CN out... you know what my stand is about heroes alignment...
| Venetia Medvyed |
Incase anyone has forgotten, Here is the post where the will was read.
Corsario
|
Thanks, I was going to look for it.
Now, remember, that will is worth only the parchment it was written on. There is no courts nor United Nations to make you respect it.
In fact, Brevoy is the first "power" that doesn't recognize it, as well as any new or existing "king" of the Stolen Lands.
| Tatiana Fortuna |
Fantastic! My bad memory aligns well with role-playing Tatiana's bad memory of months ago. Before her shouting match with Anando, Tatiana actually asked him for an official reading of the will for everyone. She will be more than happy to make the Venetia the new queen!
Evidently, Anando has forgotten as well...
| Tatiana Fortuna |
Corsario
As long as Anando is staying with the group, maybe you could montage us several hours in the future:
- Damage control is done and under control
- Barons have all had their personal conversations, moved into the castle, and everyone is updated with both groups' stories
- And Anando has just finished rereading the will.
This would be a good place for the characters to start discussing how to reorganize the kingdom.
my two coppers
cheers
FWIW Tatiana's emotional explosion has been the player's attempt to demonstrate that Tatiana never wanted to be queen in the first place and has only acted as regent relying on Anando's position of treasurer to legitimize the kingdom.
| Tatiana Fortuna |
Corsario
If you want a way to release Anando, I won't fight it.
However, Tatiana had no intention of disrespecting Anando as it was all a misunderstanding. Tatiana would apologize to him, and with a +15 Diplomacy have a solid chance of making everything fine. She will even ignore his comments that she has made a poor job as queen.
cheers

Anando is really mad. He doesn't see himself as "legalizing" anything (and he is right about that, no one in the kingdom is there because of Anando "legalizing" anything). No other "nation" recognize Sloboda because of Anando or Rupert's will. In fact they don't recognize you at all.
He will not be rereading anything. He is leaving unless you do something to retain him.
Also, the will has not "legal" standing except the one you want to give it. No one else (Brevoy, River Kingdoms, etc.) will recognize it.
| Tatiana Fortuna |
Corsario
Did you/Anando jump the gun? I've reread Venetia's post several times and can't get to where you got. Plus, if Anando had remembered that Venetia is in the will, why didn't he do something earlier?
Plus, you specifically ask to do something but don't let me...
Corsario
|
Hehehe...
I have to say I wanted something like this to happen.
This is the medieval times. There is no "nationalism" as we know it today, but loyalty was more to the ruler and his house.
I always say my wife (which is a very gentle and good person): There are no good deeds without a punishment.
I completely understand Tatiana's position she has no "legal" standing as Queen of Sloboda. I think you are correct in playing her as a good person not driven by ambition to be queen. I understand she wants to do the right thing.
She will pay dearly for it. :D
I am trying to play Anando, besides as the efficient and useful "pain in the ass" he is as the voice of reason. Of political expediency.
Anando was right.
Sloboda was created on really shaky ground. It needed a strong figure for people to join. A figure that could unite that wild lands.
And Anando vouched for Tatiana for the job.
But now, with at least 3 people "legally" rulers of the kingdom (Tatiana "de facto", Venetia "de jure" and Rupert's missing daughter as "natural" ruler) Sloboda is going to face it's first civil war.
Nobody said it was going to be easy to create a kingdom.
When I wrote "He is leaving unless you do something to retain him." I meant "all the characters", not only Tatiana. In fact, Tatiana would be the one less probable to achieve it, Janus and Venetia the easiest.
I jumped the gun? In what?
Corsario
|
Also: Anando Verisisi is no adventurer. He has no chance in hell to find Rupert's daughter. But he is willing to die trying (which he probably will). I had no plans to kill him (but I also haven't planned for what happened to him today) and I am not against "thinning" the NPC roster. I need to simplify anyway... :D
| Ni'Tir and Chimalma |
Honestly having 14 people chiming in would have been a mess of posts and besides those who did were either heard or Ignored. So naturally and in character that most weren't needed. Civil war...?
Corsario
|
A small one (I hope) but yes, a civil war... Ask Anando's nose in a round or two... :D
Corsario
|
You just saved him... And forget about the war... it is cancelled (for now) :P
| Tatiana Fortuna |
Jumped the gun in announcing queen Venetia. Imho. I thought her post was veiled enough to protect tarina's identity. And if Anando announced her as queen because of the will, he should have done that when he first saw her in the scene. And if announced her queen for that conversation with tatiana and that vague post from Venetia, he's more mad than political. No michiavelli there.
And from a game mechanics point of view, I don't understand how Anando would not have stayed friendly to Tatiana considering her diplomacy score and its constant use. Even if his attitude had dropped due to their conflict, it would have had to drop noticeably low to anyone with a sense motive check for him not to accept her apology. "Hey wow Anando is really unfriendly to tatiana. "
All that being written is just my pov. I enjoy your game and you're the story teller.
Cheers

I will be out of town this weekend at a Con in Nashua, New Hampshire. If anyone is going to be there, let me know. Posting will be very light, and possibly nonexistent between Thursday afternoon and Sunday evening.
