DR / slashing

Rules Questions

Does anyone know of a spell, item, or ability that gives DR/slashing?

Animate Dead does when you turn someone into a zombie...of course most people aren't willing to go through the hassle for it, what with the dying and what not.

thanks. I agree that I would prefer to be alive. I was looking for the DR because the campaign I am in is more range weapons than melee. If I can find DR/slashing, I can protect myself a lot better.

does the undead polymorph spell grant it ?
nevermind. undead anatomy doesn't. it'll give you dr 5/bludgeoning, dr 5/- , dr 15/magic and bludgeoning at higher levels.

plant shape III might do it, it'll give you DR. so if a plant has DR / slashing and you can take its shape , you'll get DR/ slashing

I think the more effective thing to do is simply cast Wind Wall. Now arrow and bolts instantly miss if they pass through the Wind Wall!

I can't remember if the instant miss applies to balls fired from muskets/pistols but they would at that very get a 30% miss chance.

If you want to be extra safe follow up the casting of Wind Wall with a casting a of Mirror Image. Both will set you back a combined 15,750 gold for wands of each, but then you have 50 charges and both are great spells. 50 charges will last you a long portion of your adventuring career.

cloak of winds offers some protection as well.
though not as good as wind wall iirc.
if you don't need to shoot out, it may help to place windwall in a cylinder around you.

Entropic Shield can help as well. 20% miss chance from ranged stuff, and only a 1st level cleric/oracle spell.

Mirror Image can help if they're just shooting one or two a round.

Alchemists and wizards/sorcerers get a spell called Fluid Form.

It gives DR 10/slashing and +10 feet of reach. This is because you becomes a stretchy, liquidy creatures with this spell. There are more specifics, mostly swimming and squeezing into small places, you can read up on that yourselves.

The target is "you", but an alchemist with infusion should take care of that problem. Unless you are a wizard/sorcerer, in which case I can just say enjoy shrugging off arrows. The duration is short though, so carefully consider using it.
