Selling parts of a Kit (from Ultimate Equipment or other)

Some kits (from UE or other source) have a reduction in price compared to buying the elements separately.
Is it possible to sell the components of a kit?
If so, do the normal price of the item is to be used or a reduction of it from the price of the whole kit?

Since you pay one price for the entire kit, you can't sell individual parts for their normal retail price. With partially used kits unable to be sold since you can't determine the kits diminished value.

If players start trying to game the system by selling kit components for a profit. It is just going to lead to campaign staff banning all of the kits entirely.

Last I checked, the kits did not cost less than the sum of their component parts. Which kits did you find that were cheaper?

I doubt there's any way that you could possibly make money on this. Not least because Nefreet is right: none of the kits that I'm aware of have any of their parts costing significantly less, plus you still have to sell everything at half price.

The Vampire Hunter kit had 4 MW Stakes which were sold at 50% to net 100 gp per kit. I haven't verified, but I think the Stakes were not proper weapons before the kit was created (or the creator of the kit didn't think they were.)

The Vampire Hunter Kit is not legal in PFS, though.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear.

It used to be legal, and due to people able to buy and sell for profit it was made illegal.

AS someone else stated, you cannot sell back parts of a kit. There is a ruling around here somewhere on it.

If you buy a Pathfinder Kit (12gp) you save about 14 copper IIRC. If you ask me if you can sell back the backpack for 1gp when you buy a Masterwork Backpack or a Handy Haversack, I'm fine with that. 1gp is a rounding error in even a low level character's total wealth.
