Quilted armour over an other armour

Can you wear quilted Armour over a agile breast plate?
Since you can wear silken-ed ceremonial Armour over heavy or medium armor.
I assume for Armour class you would only use the agile plates ac.
But does the quilted Armour give you damage reduction against arrows bolts?
I am assuming that you would add the weight of both armors so your now wearing 40 ponds of armor.
Will this combination work in pathfinder society play?

Lastly different armor question if I have light fire resistant armor
and I am wearing medium armor over it I assume I would take best ac of the 2 and add all of the armor check penalties. But would I get the fire
resistance from the lighter armor?

Here's how it works.

You add the weight and armor check penalty of both armors.

Which ever piece gives the superior armor bonus, suppresses ALL of the properties of any other armor that you're wearing.

Your medium armor will suppress the fire resistance and any other properties of your light armor.

So for the most part, there is no point in wearing stacks of armor.

An exception goes to masterwork studded leather or mithral chain shirts, which make for great pajamas for people who can't sleep in their full plate. :)
