Alchemist's Explosive Missile Crit

Advice

I'm currently playing a Gnome Grenadier Alchemist at level 5, in a PbP, and I just confirmed a crit with a +1 Composite Longbow (no Str mod, size small) using the Explosive Missile Discovery.

How do I calculate the crit damage for this? Is it 3d6 (from the bow) + 1d6 (from the bomb) + Int mod + Weapon Enhancement?

I'm playing an Explosive Missile Alchemist at the moment, and I believe I can help you with that.

First, you calculate the Crit damage from the bow. Longbows have a x3 Crit modifier, so you roll 3d6 instead of 1d6. Second, you gain a x2 Crit on the bomb damage. When you Crit with a bomb, you only multiply the base 1d6 damage, so that will give you a total of 4d6 bomb damage. Finally, add in the Int modifier and Weapon Enhancement modifier.

So, as far as I can see, your damage should look something like this:

3d6 (bow) + 4d6 (bomb) + Int mod + Weapon Enhancement.

1d6x2=4d6 not 2d6? other than that little math hic up thanks! And please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm just trying to understand how 1x2=4.

Your bomb damage for being level 5 is normally 3d6. A bomb crit adds an extra 1d6 for a total of 4d6
3d6 (bow) + 3d6 (bomb) +1d6 (bomb crit) + Int mod + Weapon Enhancement.

Thank you!

The Intelligence modifier should also be doubled and the Weapon Enhancement should be tripled.

Assuming that an explosive missile crit counts as a bomb crit. Which I don't think it does.

Why wouldn’t it?

Explosive Missile: As a standard action, the alchemist can infuse a single arrow, crossbow bolt, or one-handed firearm bullet with the power of his bomb, load the ammunition, and shoot the ranged weapon. He must be proficient with the weapon in order to accomplish this. When the infused ammunition hits its target, it deals damage normally and detonates as if the alchemist had thrown the bomb at the target. If the explosive missile misses, it does not detonate. An alchemist must be at least 4th level before selecting this discovery.

It says it detonates and does damage just like you would throw the bomb, so that makes me think crits would be handled the same way, as well.
