In one of last week's games our party fought an iron golem. Our archer has a shocking bow, and the question came up of whether the lightning damage from her arrows would Slow the golem. Ultimately it didn't matter much since another PC handed her faerie dragon familiar a wand of Lightning Bolt and made sure that the golem stayed Slow the entire fight.
We still wonder though, would the electric damage from a shocking weapon Slow an iron golem?

We initially figured that it should work. The DM started having some doubts though, maybe because he really wanted the golem to slam my PC twice per round.
I'll admit that at the table is did seem a little unclear whether hitting something with an arrow was "a magical attack". I guess it is a magic bow though. The arrow would beat DR/magic, and the electricity damage comes from a magical enchantment.
It is kind of nice to see a good use for shocking weapons since they don't tend to do well against a lot of common monsters like the various evil outsiders.
