Well I'll be damned. That's an odd break of consistency...
Firearm Proficiency: The Exotic Weapon Proficiency (firearms) feat allows you to use all firearms without penalty. A nonproficient character takes the standard –4 penalty on attack rolls with firearms, and a nonproficient character who loads a firearm increases all misfire values by 4 for the shots he loads.
Even though the Exotic Weapon Proficiency (firearms) feat grants you proficiency with all firearms, anytime you take a feat that modifies a single type of weapon (such as Weapon Focus or Rapid Reload), you must still pick one specific type of firearm (such as musket, axe musket, blunderbuss, pistol, or double pistol) for that feat to affect.
So EWP applies equally to any and all Firearms, though Weapon Focus and other "pick your weapon" feats still need to single out a single type of Firearm. Imagine that. But, the feat provides proficiency with all firearms. Having Ancestral Weapon or proficiency granted by class or race is a different thing.

well, pistolero and musket master constrain the ewp (firearms) granted to 2 handed or 1 handed only , right? smaller groups, but precident for ancestral arms?
Ancestral Arms: Some half-elves receive training in an unusual weapon. Half-elves with this racial trait receive Exotic Weapon Proficiency or Martial Weapon Proficiency with one weapon as a bonus feat at 1st level. This racial trait replaces the adaptability racial trait.
also, with one weapon is a bit fluff. since aside from EWP(firearms), EWP and MWP only apply to one weapon.
its not like Ancestral Arms EWP(bastard sword) limits you to proficiency with ONE particular bastard sword. Its weird that it doesn't just say that you get Exotic Weapon Proficiency or Martial Weapon Proficiency as a bonus feat. since those are already limited to one weapon.
and then there's the language parsing question:
did they mean: "HE w/ this racial trait receive EWP" and "HE w/ this racial trait receive MWP with one weapon" as their two OR cases? Where some editor changed "martial weapon proficiency with one weapon" to "Martial Weapon Proficiency... with one weapon" ?
meh. guess i'll just have to go for it and see how much table variation i get on EWP ( firearms ).
