Hi everyone. So I'm about to start a new campaign with some friends from school, but I have absolutely NO idea what to play. Currently, our party consists of an archer Ranger, a sword and board Fighter, and an unarmed Monk. I'm thinking of playing a Life Leech Vitalist with the Soulthief method, but I'm not entirely sure. We do need healing, but the Monk and Ranger are both extremely new players, with the Fighter not really having too much more experience than the other two. So, I come to you fellows for help; what role should I attempt to fill in this party?
It would be hard to go wrong with some sort of divine caster. I would try to avoid healing in combat whenever possible and instead look to buff your martial friends or control the battlefield.
So you're saying an Oracle, Cleric, or Inquisitor would be fine to fill the role?
I was looking at the Vitalist for it's ability to essentially share HP among those in the party. I thought that being able to siphon HP from someone who is almost full into a barely stable ally would be useful, as would forcing an enemy into the "collective" and stealing his HP. But thinking about it, an Oracle would be nice.

Definitely.
For healing all you need is someone who can wield a wand of cure light wounds and has access to spells that remove status effects (like the restoration line of spells).
