First off let me say I am thrilled with what Paizo has brought to my table! After a long hiatus from RPing Im back and Pathfinder has made the homecoming a grand one.
I am having a bit of trouble with an odd element I thought I would ask the forum's opinion on however. In the past I only GMd using my own homegrown campaign settings. Sure, I got ideas from published sources but basically transplanted them into my existing world.
I dont have the time for this kind of endeavor currently so Ive decided to use the Inner Sea, in all its glory, as is and am gathering up the various sourcebooks and materials with a frenzy... however
How does one go about fleshing out and detailing areas not covered in the materials? Ill admit Im worried about conjuring up ideas that may conflict with a future publication or worse, something Ive missed already in and adventure supplement or something somewhere.
For example - Ive set my players campaign to begin in Taldor and intend to use the Cassomir area and the Ruins of Nazilli as a starting adventure area. I love the idea of working in that area and detailing the region, canals, some homesteads and villages, the ruins, forest denizens etc. but Im worried about conflicting with established campaign data.
How do you guys handle this sort of thing?

Well, this site is a big help.
I second that! The information is very well organised, it's of great help.

No problem.
You're the DM the world is yours. Do what you want. If Paizo publishes something that conflicts with what you have already done and the players have already seen, then in your Golarion Paizo's version is just wrong.
I don't think James Jacobs is running around with an orthodoxy bat.
