The Poison Pill & The Poison Trap: did not disable it / shuffle back in the deck?

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

Hi guys,

So we're playing the Poison Pill scenario and just encountered our first Poison Trap at the General Store.

My daughter didn't disable the Poison Trap and so she did her CON/FORT check. She failed that and took her damage.

So we're wondering what happens now. Does the Poison Trap card get banished out of the game and we keep searching the location so we can close it? Does that trap get shuffled back into that location deck? We're totally stumped.

Thanks for the help,

Ben

Undefeated banes get shuffled back into the deck unless stated otherwise on the card.

Short Answer: Shuffle it

Thanks for the assist.

I have a follow on question from this.
I successful defeated the Poison Trap so I could then attempt to close the location. The location (can't remember that name) required me to summon and defeat a Bandit. I was unsuccessful at this so I took the damage. I'm guessing that he gets banished and I have missed my chance to close the location and have to keep going until I totally clear the location, or do I just summon a Bandit next turn and attempt to close again?
Thanks in advance

You would have to clear the location before you can try to close it again.

The rulebook does not say you have to explore all the cards in that location to close if you do not close it on your first try.

I say you can continue to attempt to close a location on your next turn.

Apart from the close attempt you get from defeating a henchman, and the close or temporary close attempt you get from encountering the villain, you can only attempt to close a location that has no cards left.

Close a Location: If your character is at a location that has no cards remaining and has not been closed, at this time you may make one attempt to close it (see Closing a Location on page 13).
