no you need adamantine arrows to gain the benefits of it bows can not be made of metal

It is a melee weapon that shift shape. I don't think it will transform into a missile weapon. In any instance this is the wrong section of the forum. Seconded on that one. The way I'd houserule it, I'd say that it takes the shape of their favoured melee weapon (the player's I mean). It's a one time choice though.
I'd recommend going and asking it in the GM Reference thread in the Wrath of the Righteous section. James and some of the others have been commenting from time to time there.
