Hi, I am new to Pathfinder and i find myself with a lvl 10 dwarf fighter with a dwarven warax and a hvy steel shield, since i am new , the gamemaster offered that i could redo my character as long as it remained a dwarf and a tank, i don't do that great dmg and the critical is a 20 only, what can i do?
any sugestion of the progression to lvl 10 will be greatly appreciated, my starting stats are as follows:
STR 18
DEX 17
CON 16
INT 16
WIS 14
CHA 12
THXS IN ADVANCE,

Okay, those are great stats!
Generally speaking, the most reliable and hardest to mess up approach to dealing damage in Pathfinder is to wield a two-handed weapon. Both your strength modifier and your power attack bonus get a 1.5x modifier when you two-hand a weapon. Unless you've got a bunch of feats to synergize with shields, the +2 AC of a large shield just isn't worth the damage loss.
You want your party spellcasters to give you buffing spells. If you don't have a strength-boosting item (at level 10, you should) you want bull's strength. The Haste and Heroism spells are superb buffs, but you might have trouble convincing the casters to shell out 3rd level spell slots repeatedly for you. Enlarge Person, however, is a glorious gem with only a 1st level spell slot requirement.
Power attack is your friend! With a two-handed weapon, that's +9 damage per hit (instead of +6 with a one-handed weapon). The attack penalty is a harsh tradeoff, but as a high-strength fighter you should have a superb attack score to begin with.

I would suggest that you look through the class guide for fighters to get a better understanding (since you are new) to what your class is/is not capable of. It can be found here: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2m612?Guide-to-the-Class-Guides
The general thought of a tank is good for online games, but does lose some flair in a tabletop RPG. Your best option is, as previously mentioned, to use a twohanded weapon in order to deal significant damage, which means mobs cant ignore you like they would if you did little damage.
Carry a one hand weapon and a shield as backup for those occasions when they might be needed.
If you wish, you may want to take a look at the Paladin class as they gain several abilities that would help you as a tank, including self-healing.
