Petty Cash in Scenarios

Quick question: How is the expenditure of petty cash handled?

For example, I just finished running Rise Of The Goblin Guild. One of the PCs bought a hunk of meat from the butcher for Ekkie (which I had to come up with a cost for on the spot, btw). Is that subtracted from their total gp, and if so, how is that marked on their chronicle sheet?

Likewise, I've seen some scenarios where one way to handle a situation is offering a bribe. Now, presuming you don't have a coffer specifically for such, provided by your Venture Captain or the like, and pay the bribe yourself; how is this handled?

While I'd wait for someone official to respond, here's how I would do it.

The player who spent the gold should mark it under their gold spent on the chronicle they earn for that adventure. This assumes they have the money to spend before hand.

Only Sheila Heidmarch gives you free bribe money, and only then if you have the new Pathfinder Society Primer...oh Sheila, so sketchy.

However, travel expenses to and from adventures are reimbursed by the Society.

Usually anyway. If you somehow convince a ship that was supposed to just take you to a prison to sail near the Eye of Abendego for extra pay, you might be paying that out of pocket, even if you promise Adril Hestram will cover it!

It was a good thing you were successful enough in your mission to turn Hestram's stern lecture on appropriate respect for the good name of venture captains into a "just don't do it again, OK? At least not with my money."

Mark it on their chronicle sheet with a note about the circumstances. Makes for fond memories when looking back through your chronicle sheets.

No, it goes on the Inventory Tracking Sheet now, not the Chronicle.

Well, it may be less than 25 gp. I'd probably still make a note on the player's chronicle, more for the memorability factor than for accounting purposes. Also as a player I hate tracking costs less than 1 gp, IMO it makes the chronicle/ITS messy, so Ekkie would have got 1.5 pounds of horsemeat from me, or the butcher would have gotten a big tip.

It doesn't go on the ITS as nothing less than 25 gold that you bough goes on there (bribes just go on the Chronicle sheet). It goes in the notes on the new sheets and in the stuff bought on the old ones.

As an aside... why do the writers constantly feel a need to remind us all that Sheila has a low, breathy voice? o.o

Draven,

Any given scenario may be the first time a player (or the GM, for that matter) encounters her.
