<Before I get started I am going to agknowledge that fire is a poor focus over all due to fire resistance being on EVERYTHING and such>
Ok here is a question for you all. Who makes the best "pyromancer"? When I say pyromancer I mean, caster with a particulair specialization in spells that go BURN!!!!!
So what class do you guys think make the best fire mages?
You'll get a discussion between the crossblooded sorcerer (dragon, orc), and an admixture wizard with a level dip in crossbloded sorcerer (dragon, orc).
They can be build to somewhat the same effect.
I prefer sorcerers myself - so that the route I'd choose.
I was asking because it also seems like the Oracle of Flame can also make a pretty effective pyromancer as well.
I definately think it is possible to make an efficient fire-blaster oracle of flame.
But in comparison with the sorcerer, I don't think their burn ability outweighs the extra 1 or 2 damage per damage dice.
Of course the oracle could dip into sorcerer as well...
That is true. So the question is, does an Oracle of Flame with a level dip into Crossblooded Sorcerer, a Pure Crossblooded socerer, or a admixture wizard with a dip into sorcerer make the better pyromancer?

The Ifrit has some nice bonuses for fire-casters and don't neglect Summoning spells... nothing like occupying a foe with fire-immune creatures and then following it up with fireballs and the like.
My spouse made a very effective pyromancer... He was a Druid with some rather innovative techniques in spells selection.

Are we counting 3rd party material? Because then its a human eldritch godling from super genius games. Eventually it would let you get all of the bloodling powers and arcan from the fire relavent bloodlines, the admixture power and if you like the fire domain and flame mysteries.
I think we are gonna keep with Core material only xD since alot of people don't have the 3pp stuff and sadly alot of GMs are like, super against 3PP stuff.

I never really thought of a druid when it comes to a pyromancer. Several bars and at least one opera house can attest otherwise. The character in question is a Flame Druid. (Fire Domain) He's even used Fire Quench tatically as well in taking down Fire Elementals.
It helps if you think of Pyromancers beyond the "Burn Baby Burn" box.
fair enough, I just happen to be puting together a damage dealing eldritch godling for a game that I am joining. Its Earth/Acid based instead of fire, but the effect is the same.
Hiya there !
Someone called me ? I am the one and true Pyromancer. Ignore all imitations. Especially that Elric guy. So frustrating and unoriginal.
So basically, if someone has magus ideas for a Pyromancer build, I'm all ears.
Especially if I can payback my future DM and current player, I'm listening.

Some things are obvious, the fire spells, maybe an admixture feat to convert the ubiquitous shocking grasp to a fire spell.
Sure, I get the spells part, really easy. Burning hands, fireball, plenty others ...
But about feats ?
I mean there are so many of them now, that it could take ages selecting the right combination.
Look at words of power. It actually has a lot of damage potential for blasting, when you can turn any spell into a Fire. Combine with the Crossblooded Sorcerer mentioned above for more fun.
For example, a 3rd level word spell (Burning Flash + Shock Arc) would deal the following damage at 6th level.
5d6 fire
5d6 electricity
A strict reading of the Arcana would add ten more damage to both of those(I think), since ten dice are being rolled.

Spell Focus Evocation, Enlarge Spell, Empower Spell, the usual spell boosting. and of course Elemental Affinity Fire.
Nice !
I'll give them a look.
Thanks, guys !
There was recently a kickstarter for a third party product called spheres of power, could make a good pyromancer with that stuff. Though it is certainly not core, like you're looking for.
Also, Fat Goblin Games(3rd party, I know you said none of that, but it's awesome) has a Pyromancer base class that eventually deals half fire damage to things with immunity to fire, and ignores hardness!
This alias is my first attempt at a gnome pyromancer: pyromaniac alternate race trait give him +1 caster level to all 'fire' spells, and fire elemental-blooded sorcerer lets him change any energy spell to 'fire' spell.
