Tower Shield Bonus while using it for Cover

Rules Questions

Do you still get the Shield Bonus for a tower shield when you are using it for total cover?

No.

Citation? I can see why that makes sense from a real-world perspective, but I can't find that in the rules.

Anything in the rules lead you to that conclusion?

Liberty's Edge

No.

Shield, Tower: This massive wooden shield is nearly as tall as you are. In most situations, it provides the indicated shield bonus to your AC. As a standard action, however, you can use a tower shield to grant you total cover until the beginning of your next turn...

The however refers to the situation where the tower shield does not provide the indicated shield bonus to your AC and instead provides total cover.
