Basically, I'm wondering if there is any magic item that lets me cast a metamagic feat (from a Metamagic Threnoptic Rod) as a standard action.
Some back information: I want to be able to cast "Battlemind Link" on my Zombie Dragon mount and myself at the start of every combat. I'm a multiclass Sorcerer (fighter mage). Crossblooded, with the Sage and Orc bloodlines. I want to start the battle holding the Threnoptic Rod, cast the spell as a standard action, use my swift action for something else, put the rod away as a move action.
I could explain the entire build, but let me save everyone some trouble. I'm not going to pick up the Threnoptic Spell feat. And I'm not going to pick the level 3 Sage/Arcane bloodline power. I picked the Orc one. And I'm keeping 3.5 items out of it. Pure Pathfinder, including no 3rd party stuff.
So, does anybody know of an item that lets me do what I'm looking for? I'm not horribly concerned if it's only three times a day or whatever, that would be fine.
I have searched and searched, and could find nothing.

As a GM, I wouldn't let a player weapon cord it, then fight with weaponry while it was still dangling around. Even if the GM said it'd be okay, it'd probably be with massive penalties to hit, and that's no good.
I know there is a feat that lets you get around it, but a prereq is that you know a metamagic feat. In my build, I could get rid of one feat, but not two. So...that's kinda out.

Have you considered the Glove of Storing? They're expensive at 10,000 gold, but they let you store and retrieve a single item that weighs 20 pounds or less as a free action.

Without the correct build/bloodline/feats when have sorcerers been able to use metamagic via rods or feats without taking a full-round action?
A sorcerer still must take a full-round action when using a metamagic rod, just as if using a metamagic feat he possesses (except for quicken metamagic rods, which can be used as a swift action).
Has it not been that way since 3.0?
