Ways to be healed by Negaitve Energy

Ok so what I need to know is if there is any way to make it so that group of people will be treated as undead as far as how channeled energy effects them. I have an Anitpaladin in the group and two of the characters are already treated as undead and hence healed by negative energy but im wondering if there is a spell or something out there that can make it so everyone in the group is treated as undead or just flat out healed by negative energy for a period of time. Any ideas?


There's a spell somewhere that does it. Believe it's Oracle/cleric. I'll get back to you if someone else doesn't link it first.


Undead subdomain of clerical Death domain (APG) has death kiss power:

Death's Kiss (Su):
You can cause a creature to take on some of the traits of the undead with a melee touch attack. Touched creatures are treated as undead for the purposes of effects that heal or cause damage based on positive and negative energy. This effect lasts for a number of rounds equal to 1/2 your cleric level (minimum 1). It does not apply to the Turn Undead or Command Undead feats. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.


Yeah I dont think the undead subdomain power will work out because I can only use it on one person at a time and what I really wanted to find is either a cheap item I could give to each member of the group or a spell that I could affect them all with so that when the antipaladin channels he can hurt the enemies and heal the party. If I absolutely can't find anything that will work like this I could just have the antipali use selective channeling every time to work around the allies.

There's a Feat for that.

The spell Life Channel does the opposite, and it is a 2nd level cleric spell. Houserule, you could ask your GM if you can prepare a 2nd level cleric spell, Death Channel that gives NNA


@Rynjin, yeah I could tell the rest of the party that if they want healing from our Antipallie that they need to take the feat. Leave it up to them and just tell em otherwise you should keep your distance from him.

@ArmoredMonk13, True I could talk to the GM about making a spell opposite to Life Channel and maybe the other players could make use activated items that would apply it to them. At least then instead of getting hurt by negative energy they would get temp hp, i mean its not healing but if your close to death who cares. It keeps you going till you can get more direct healing.

Ask if you can bump the level up by 1 to make it true NNA for the duration.


If the point is just to avoid getting hurt, tell your Antipaladin to take Selective Channeling so he won't hit his allies.

Remember that when channeling you declare whether it will heal or harm. If an ally would be healed by negative energy and you channel to harm enemies, they are simply unaffected. If you channel to heal then the enemies take no damage.

Channel Energy
"A good cleric (or a neutral cleric who worships a good deity) channels positive energy and can choose to deal damage to undead creatures or to heal living creatures. An evil cleric (or a neutral cleric who worships an evil deity) channels negative energy and can choose to deal damage to living creatures or to heal undead creatures. A neutral cleric of a neutral deity (or one who is not devoted to a particular deity) must choose whether she channels positive or negative energy. Once this choice is made, it cannot be reversed. This decision also determines whether the cleric can cast spontaneous cure or inflict spells (see spontaneous casting)."

Would that necromantic affinity feat heal you on channels too, or just spells?

I've always seen it ruled that feat heals you on channels as well ; at least, that's how it worked for my Necromantic Affinity'd antipaladin!


@Riuken, very good point. I hadn't ever noticed that. I just assumed that if you sent out a negative energy channel pulse, living beings would be harmed, undead would be healed. Not that for each energy you had to choose which you were trying to do. very interesting. Either way though with the rest of the crew not being healed by negative energy unless they buy the item or I cast many spells first, and with the Anitpaladins channeling taking two lay on hands uses, I think well just let those goody goodys fend for themselves lol. The antipallie and me are partners of a sort anyways so she can just heal she and I.


Theres a druid "thingy" that does this too

There's the Undead Anatomy series of spells, though those do a little bit more tan grant negative energy affinity.
