Quick Question about Dragon Ferocity (Combat / Style Feat)

Rules Questions

OK got a question about the special text in this feat (below)specifically the highlighted text.

Special: Taking this feat allows you to qualify for the Elemental Fist feat even if you do not meet that feat’s prerequisites. If you do not meet that feat’s prerequisites, you must choose one of the damage types that feat offers, and you can use only that damage type with your Elemental Fist attacks until you meet the feat’s normal prerequisites. A monk with this feat can use Elemental Fist as if he were a monk of the four winds.

Now does this mean that by simply having Dragon Ferocity as a Monk I get to use Elemental Fist as a Monk of the Four Winds or does this mean that if I have Dragon Ferocity and Elemental Fist that I get to use it as a Monk of the Four Winds?

Upon researching this before posting I think I may have answered my own question but since I took the time to write this up I might as well get some second and third opinions.

While I agree that the wording is a little unclear, AS WRITTEN I'd have to say that if you have Dragon Ferocity and you're a monk, you can use Elemental Fist as if you were a Monk of the Four Winds. However I believe that AS INTENDED, you should have to take the elemental fist feat as well. That's just my GM perspective, though.

Yeah that was my thought when I first read it as well, but upon reading Elemental Fist from the Monk Archetype I realized I would still have to have the feat Elemental Fist but with the combined feats it would act like the Special Ability of the Archetype which is pretty damn nice.

If you look at it as a whole it's telling you that your allowed to use it like a Monk of the Four Winds but you still need to acquire the feat. That is to say that they can used Elemental Fist more times per day then other types of characters.

Otherwise what would be the point of saying, "Taking this feat allows you to qualify for the Elemental Fist feat even if you do not meet that feat’s prerequisites."

On point, it's one feat. It makes sense that you'd have to take it. Luckily you're not trying to argue the point. For that I thank you.
