For example, say you have a seven branched sword. Now a when a seven branched sword makes a succesful trip attempt, instead of making it's target prone it makes them flat footed. If the sword had the dancing property, would it:
1. Be able to make a trip attempt on a target?
2. Be able to take advantage of the Improved trip feat if the person using has it?
3. Is it able to power attack? Disarm? A seven branched sword is listed as a disarm weapon but not a trip weapon. Would it make a difference?
An important bit of text from the dancing enhancement description.
"While dancing, it cannot make attacks of opportunity, and the person who activated it is not considered armed with the weapon. The weapon is considered wielded or attended by the creature for all maneuvers and effects that target items."
So while the player using it is not 'armed' with it, he still weilds it to some degree.

1) RAW I don't see anything disallowing it, RAI I am very doubtful.
Note that in any instance it don't benefit from your feats and characteristics, so its CMB is low.
The AoO generated by the combat Maneuver would be against the weapon, not the character.
2) "It fights for 4 rounds using the base attack bonus of the one who loosed it and then drops." It don't use your feats, so no.
3) Again, it don't use your feats, so no power attack. Disarm, as 1)
As it can be useful to you, I add this FAQ:
Trip Weapons: If you want to make a trip combat maneuver, do you have to use a weapon with the trip special feature?
No. When making a trip combat maneuver, you don't have to use a weapon with the trip special feature--you can use any weapon. For example, you can trip with a longsword or an unarmed strike, even though those weapons don't have the trip special feature.
Note that there is an advantage to using a weapon with the trip special feature (a.k.a. a "trip weapon") when making a trip combat maneuver: if your trip attack fails by 10 or more, you can drop the trip weapon instead of being knocked prone. On a related note, you don't have to use a weapon with the disarm special feature (a.k.a. a "disarm weapon") when making a disarm combat maneuver--you can use any weapon.
Note: This is a revision of this FAQ entry based on a Paizo blog about combat maneuvers with weapons. The previous version of this FAQ stated that using a trip weapon was the only way you could apply weapon enhancement bonuses, Weapon Focus bonuses, and other such bonuses to the trip combat maneuver roll. The clarification in that blog means any weapon used to trip applies these bonuses when making a trip combat maneuver, so this FAQ was updated to omit the "only trip weapons let you apply these bonuses" limitation.
