Brawler build advice

Advice

I am thinking on making a brawler character fighter or rogue maybe some of both. Human using Radovan as a kind of guideline. 25 point buy running in a rise of the rune lords campain.

Grand Lodge

There is the Brawler Fighter archetype.

Who is Radovan?

After just a little digging, I'm guessing he means the Radovan described here, and not the Radovan of the Czech fairy tale, nor the famous actor, artists, or politicians by the same name.

If so, it sounds like he's a somewhat stealthy melee combatant, in which case ranger would be an excellent fit. If you're looking for unarmed, you could go with fighter with the brawler archetype blackbloodtroll mentioned and try to avoid dumping your Int (2 + 0 from Int + favored class + human bonus is a good basis for some sneaking skills). It'll get you some nasty damage and not too horribly lack for skills.

Grand Lodge

A Brawler Fighter, with some levels in Freebooter/Trapper Ranger.

If you want punching without all the trouble brought by using actual unarmed strikes, you could try the Cestus.

The cestus is similar to, but better than, the brass knuckles. It has the same basic statistics as a dagger (light, 1d4, 19-20/x2), and it allows you to use other items with your hands while wearing them. It does not appear to interfer with spells, so a Strength based TWF ranger build might be nice since it doesn't mess with your casting. Really, the only downside to using them is that they interfer with certain fine skills such as disable device (are you playing that type of sneaky character?).

Note: I am fairly sure from the description that is is intended to appear and work more like a spiked glove people would actually want to use, rather than the ovenmit from hell you see in google image.

Anyway, brawler archetype fighter might be great too since they can easily act like body guards since the ability to prevent enemies from ever getting out of your reach. This comes from a combination of the standstill feat, which lets you use your AoO to stop an opponent from moving if that movement drew an AoO, and the appropraitely named "No Escape" ability of brawlers, which gives you an AoO for just about any situation where an enemy tries to get more than 5 feet from you. Combined with a rather dramatic debuff ability on any enemy you stand next to, you could easily charge in and trap enemies at the start of a battle so that they can't attack your squishier party members. Seems somewhat thematically appropriate for the character you are working off of.
