Adding Nascent Demon Lord / Demon Lord "Templates" to non-demons

Rules Questions

Would you? Could you? Is all that is required is gaining great power within the Abyss? Or is actually being a demon a necessity?

Pretty sure anything that is able to qualify has probably been corrupted long before they reach that status.

Shadow Lodge

explain in further detail what you mean please

Well, take a thanotic Titan. They're chaotic evil, powerful, and dwell in the Abyss. If one attained enough personal might, could they ascend to demon lord/nascent lord status? Despite the fact they're not technically demons? This could apply to any race.

given that the act of being a demon lord does not give you the power (least i don't think it does, but it might given the whole worship=divinity thing) and the powers they get I do not believe to be the same for each demon lord, I'd say if you want it to in your campin sure
but they would be called devil or demon lord or whatever
in this case I'd call it a titan lord
easy way to do it is to add the mighty template, or the advanced template and then add the powers of the fiendish and/or half fiend and giant templates, and convert it's racial HD with anti-paladin, cleric/oracle or magus levels

Rarely, non-demons can become demon lords. The majority of non-demons who make this transition are ascended qlippoth, but in even rarer cases, a powerful non-native of the Abyss can attract the plane’s attention and make the transition to nascent demon lord.

Yes, non-demons can become nascent demon lords/demon lords.

The 3.5 demon lords/archdevils included non-demon/devils such as night hags. So a thanotic titans would makes sense.
