Progeny Continuing the battle against the Runelords

Rise of the Runelords

I'm currently DMing Rise of the Runelords. Several of the players already have romantic interests that may by the end of the campaign result in families with children.

The idea popped in my head that whenever we finish ROTRL that it might be cool to continue on with a separate party, at least partially compromised of the children of the heroes played in ROTRL.

If we were to do another pre-built AP, which one would be good for a 16-20 years down the timeline campaign?

Sovereign Court

Shattered Star, hands down.

My group is actually running both at the same time, set five years apart, and they're wonderfully connected. Similar themes, a similar feel, and for your group, at least, extra motivation to launch the campaign in the first place. I mean, what 1st level adventurers would understand better the need to prevent/prepare for more Runelords than the kids of the people who took down Karzoug?

I really love the idea, by the way...when we finish these two, we're going to jump twenty years and run Wrath of the Righteous using the children of our Shattered Star PCs.

Jade Regent (with an older Ameiko) or Shattered Star are clear choices.

Curse of the Crimson Throne might work too.
