Orc Double Axe attack

Rules Questions

I have a 7th level half-orc with a +1 orc double axe and the two weapon fighting and improved two weapon fighting feats.
Str = 20 (5)
BAB = 7/2

I'd like some clarification on how the attack would work to make sure I'm doing it ok.

Will a full round attack be 11/11/8/6 (1d8+8)?
11 for the first primary swing.
11 again for the first off-hand swing.
8 for the second primary swing because of a high BAB.
6 for the second off-hand swing because of the -5 from improved two weapon fighting.

I'm also not entirely sure about the damage as well. I'm guessing that since it's a two-handed double weapon, both primary and off-hand attacks get the 1.5xSTR bonus. Don't know if the if the off-hand half STR applies to this.

Thanks for any help ^__~ b

Assuming a BAB of +7, your primary attacks are +11/+6 and do 1d8+6 and must be taken in that order, and your off hand attacks are +11/+6 and do 1d8+3 and must be taken in that order.

Apart from that, the attacks can be made in any order so long as each +11 attack of each hand must be taken before each +6 attack from that hand.

Your Str bonus to damage is x 1 for your primary attack, and x 0.5 for your off hand attack, because you treat a double weapon as if you had a one-handed weapon in your primary hand and a light weapon in your off hand for the duration of any full attack where you use it to gain an extra attack by two-weapon fighting. in any other circumstance it is (and is treated as) a two-handed weapon and gets 1.5 x Str bonus to damage.

Don't forget that each end of the double axe must be enchanted separately. And each end can have different enchantments. For example, you could have a double axe with one end being +3 keen and the other end being +1 flaming elf bane.

(don't ask me if the axe is flaming or if it is bane vs. flaming elves...)

Assuming both sides of your double axe are +1, your full attack pattern, given your bonuses and feats, is:

+11 @ 1d8+6/+6 @ 1d8+6 (primary hand)/+11 @ 1d8+3/+6 @ 1d8+3 (off hand)

Double Weapons:
Dire flails, dwarven urgroshes, gnome hooked hammers, orc double axes, quarterstaves, and two-bladed swords are double weapons. A character can fight with both ends of a double weapon as if fighting with two weapons, but he incurs all the normal attack penalties associated with two-weapon combat, just as though the character were wielding a one-handed weapon and a light weapon.

Fighting with two weapons:
If you wield a second weapon in your off hand, you can get one extra attack per round with that weapon. When fighting in this way you suffer a –6 penalty with your regular attack or attacks with your primary hand and a –10 penalty to the attack with your off hand. If your off-hand weapon is light, the penalties are reduced by 2 each. An unarmed strike is always considered light.

Two Weapon Fighting Feat:
Your penalties on attack rolls for fighting with two weapons are reduced. The penalty for your primary hand lessens by 2 and the one for your off hand lessens by 6. See Two-Weapon Fighting in Combat.

Improved Two Weapon Fighting Feat:
In addition to the standard single extra attack you get with an off-hand weapon, you get a second attack with it, albeit at a –5 penalty.

Ah, that really helps. Thanks for the help.

Remember that any AoO's you receive don't incur the TWF penalties and because you are only attacking with one end of the weapon on an AoO you get 1.5 x STR to damage for using the axe in 2 hands. Also do this on any attack where you are limited to a standard action.
