I'm currently building a Wrath of the Righteous character for the upcoming AP, of course, and after seeing the player guide campaign traits, I'm seeing two directions I want to go with this.

My first idea is a Tiefling(Pit-spawn preferably) paladin who'll end up taking the Champion Mythic path, a heavy-hitting paladin of sorts, preferably using a blunt weapon.

I'm also really interested in creating a commander-type character who wants to lead the crusade into battle, who takes the Marshal mythic path, and more support.

I'm entirely unsure where to go with either concept however beyond the basic concept, as I'm not that used to either class, and I'm far more used to wizards and alchemists.

My group rolls for stats, though we basically allow each person to roll two sets, with my rolled stats being
15, 15, 11, 10, 9, 8 or
18, 12, 10, 9, 9, 8.
in whatever order I please

Tie flings are great paladin tanks as they have that bonus to lay on hands healing which really does add up as you level. Might want to have a high cha to back that up though.

Both sets of stats leave you with pretty much nothing going on in any stat that isn't a primary stat, meaning that your AC and HP will suck if you use either set, which means you should avoid a melee class imo.

Your second set could very easily make a very strong SAD caster, like a witch or a wizard, and your first set I can't really see being much but a barbarian or fighter.

Sometimes if you wanna play smart you gotta go where the dice land.

Make a pure caster with the 2nd set of stats, and after he dies, hope the dice like you better for your next character.

The first set is a 12pt buy, the 2nd a really poorly spent 15pt buy.

Unless everyone else has similar terrible rolls, your GM should either let you re-roll or give you a point-buy.

One of our methods when we roll is to have everyone roll a set of stats together, and then everyone chooses any of the stat lines rolled by anyone in the group. That way, everyone has the same options, even if you move them around differently.

It also means that if one person rolls extremely poorly, he won't be a drag just waiting to re-roll for a better character.

Rakshasa tiefling, first array.

after racials:
Str: 11
Dex: 17
Con: 10
Int: 8
Wis: 7
Cha: 17

This build is going for an archer style paladin, which is pretty good. The bad saves will be fixed later on by the +cha bonus to saves. Detect thoughts on a paladin is not too shabby either.

Demon spawn, second array
after racials:
20
9
10
7
8
14

Not to thrilled about this one, will hit very hard but it is also super squishy for being melee focused. Buy the best armor you can every chance you get.

Either one will be sorely lacking in skills. The top one long term will give you the most damage once the feat chains come on line, but the bottom one just needs power attack and its going to be a wrecking ball (made of glass), but whatever, the huge to hit and damage with an earth-breaker is going to wreck some enemies for about 5 levels before it starts to show the builds weakness. By then the archer paladin will be getting its rapid shot + iterative attack sequence going and will be doing just as good or even better.

I was able to convince my GM to roll another double set after he met up with some of the other potential players who got far better rolls, and I got numbers that look a bit more manageable.
14,14,13,12,12,10
16,16,14,13,12,6

The 6 seems sorta cringe worthy, but overall that set looks better, I guess. I was looking at the Oathbound stuff, especially the Oath against Fiends, considering the campaign's supposed setting.

Is there in particulars when it comes to starting feats I should worry about when playing a paladin?

Against fiends, I would make sure you don't take an archetype that gives up channeling. Alignment Channel and Channel Smite will let you get massive damage. Unsanctioned Knowledge is always good. Don't forget about Power Attack and Furious Focus.

What races are available? What books are available?

It's basically anything and everything Paizo. But my flavour-lust has led to be led to a "This must be a tiefling" territory.

Point buy? Rolled stats? Array?

Either of these two sets.
