If a Titan Mauler Barbarian2/Kensai4 with an INT of 18 Rages, is he capable of using his canny defense ability, or does his AC get lowered by 4? Quotes for convinience

Rage wrote:
While in rage, a barbarian gains a +4 morale bonus to her Strength and Constitution, as well as a +2 morale bonus on Will saves. In addition, she takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class. The increase to Constitution grants the barbarian 2 hit points per Hit Dice, but these disappear when the rage ends and are not lost first like temporary hit points. While in rage, a barbarian cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration.

Canny Defense (Ex): At 1st level, when a kensai is wielding his chosen weapon, he gains the canny defense ability. This is identical to the duelist prestige class ability of the same name (Core Rulebook 382), save that his chosen weapon may be of any type.
Duelist wrote:
Canny Defense (Ex): When wearing light or no armor and not using a shield, a duelist adds 1 point of Intelligence bonus (if any) per duelist class level as a dodge bonus to her Armor Class while wielding a melee weapon. If a duelist is caught flat-footed or otherwise denied her Dexterity bonus, she also loses this bonus.

I ask because I have an idea for a Dex based Kensai with an Elven Curve Blade and rage for STR. Thanks in advance.

Eh, I'd personally go with an Urban Barbarian anyway - No question on this with Controlled Rage and you can switch to Dex when you get an Agile Weapon.

Canny defense is not a skill or based on one, so probably not a problem. However, the rage restriction against any ability that requires patience or concentration is entirely up to GM interpretation. So, like any barbarian concept other than rabid suicidal berserker, best to check with GM before committing to playing it with them.

@Cult of Vorg:Thats what I thought to, but others disagreed in PFS so I was wondering if RAW/PFS rules it would work.

@Chris Kenny:Urban Barbarian Kensai Magus is an awesome combo, but it is just a step short of being the cookie cutter Scimitazer build that so many people use. Also trying to come up with a good build for the Elven Curved Blade.
