Liberty's Edge

I attrition it to death.

Going to the Con. Won't be back till Monday

"I'd like to help but I used my allotment of breath weapons for the day."

Sovereign Court

Perhaps now is a good time to rest up as there are no more encounters on this level

He gives Alissa a sad puppy dog look. He backs away from the turtle his wounds already beginning to heal.

He grabs Nesod as he goes so as to make sure he is safe since he backed him up.

"For my next tricks, I will use Atcane Blast and Arcane Strike."

Sovereign Court

You all make it through the night unmolested, fingers of mist rise from an orange pool lining the bottom of the lake. The misty pool is not dispersed by the water.

Does the orange look like something bubbling up, a glow, or does it look like the water is orange?

Sovereign Court

Alissa: This looks like your average everyday orange mist that you find at the bottom of a breatheable lake 8>)

Seriously though, You cannot tell if it is "bubbling up" as the mist is thicker towards the middle and bottom part of it.

The fog does not glow unnaturally.

The fog and water seem to be intertwined and towards the top fingers of fog move slowly in the water, buy is not dispersed by the water.

Is the mist heading towards us?

Sovereign Court

AMS: No Sir, It seems content to linger on the lake floor

Time for..., <drum roll> detect magic.

Sovereign Court

AMS: The mist has a strong aura of conjuration magic

Does it look like what we saw earlier coming out of the cave?

Sovereign Court

Alissa: No the stuff in the valley smelled of lilacs and was grayish purple? This is orange and smells of oranges.

Well, it carries strong conjuration magics, whatever it is. Hmmm, I wonder what it creates..?

Sovereign Court

There are many aspects to the conjuration school, much like up on the bridge when evocation was detected and it was....?

...But that had transmutation magics in it. Does this orange glow resemble anything I might know. Can I take a untrained Knowledge Check.

Sovereign Court

AMS: The bridge had both transmutation and evocation. using your natural animal magnetism you are pretty sure the transmutation magic was what made the bridge flip upside down.

If you wish you can make an untrained knowledge check? or a more creative solution that makes me chuckle.

No pressure!

Concentrating, he invokes the racial memories and spirits of his ancestor dragons for guidance and knowledge

Knowledge: Arcana 1d20 + 2 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 2 + 10 = 29

Knowledge: Nature 1d20 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 5 = 13

Knowledge: Dungeoneering 1d20 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 3 = 12

Sovereign Court

AMS: The gold dragon elders knowledge sings in your blood.

Mist:
The orange mist radiates conjuration(teleportation) magic

I bet this is the gate to the next level. It's teeming with teleportation magics.

I swim into it. Let's see what happens.

"Wait! I don't where it goes!"

We don't know what's on the other side. We should all go thru at the same time.

Sovereign Court

So do you all follow Jenny?

ARE WE SURE THIS ISN'T HEALING MIST? I MEAN, THAT'S CONJURATION TOO (FOR SOME REASON). MAYBE THIS IS AN OMINOUS, CREEPING MIST OF HEALDOM.

Mist of Healy? Maybe you should be careful, AMH?

Liberty's Edge

I follow Jenny.

Sovereign Court

Ok you crazy kids, I will update you manana between 7-8 am pst united states time.

Are you folks happy with the way this is going cause I'm open to change. FYI This is a BIG LEVEL!

"What the fire-breathing heck. Who wants to live forever?"

I plunge into the mists.

OOC: JRR Tolkien, you're doing great!

OOC: Yep, great =)

Liberty's Edge

Amazing, man. Seriously. *golf clap*

"Nasty Orc follow group."

I am having a great time keep it going man.

Doing great JRR. When you get tired or life gets too busy, I sure someone else will start.

Into the mists.

Sovereign Court

All: The reason i was asking is if there were any specific requests i.e. more mindless violence, more puzzles/traps?

Ok then As you dissapear into the mist...

Through the Mist:
You wake up to the odor of rotten meat. You are lying on your back in a pile of sharp lumps. A dim glow from the ceiling above shows that the lumps are dozens of corpses, with blackened and twisted bones.

The room is about 70' square, each wall containing three golden doors studded with black gems. The doors look identical to the one you saw on the far side of the bridge i.e. they have 2 handles on each door

You all realize that you were unconscious for a couple of minutes. All your equipment is still with you. You are all completely dry.

Anything useful or valuable on the corpses?

Search: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

Sovereign Court

Alissa: Your search of the corpses yields you 7 tarnished silver necklaces imbedded with a black onyx.

Someone scan these for magic.

detect magic

On it.

"Yum someone left us lunch."

He reaches down to eat some of the rotting meat. Unless someone stops him.

You just ate. Leave it for later.

Sovereign Court

AMS: The necklaces do not radiate magic, but are worth 100 gp each

Nasty: There is not alot of meat on these bones, but it tastes better than the zombie sushi you had earlier.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

THIS PLACE REMINDS ME OF MY TENTH BIRTHDAY PARTY.

Liberty's Edge

Can I have a necklace?

I wonder if they have any historical or religious significance.

I need to consult my dragon ancestors.

Sovereign Court

AMH: My 10th b-day was at Chuck E Cheeses

Nesod: I have no issue with that

AMS: These don't seem tied to any historical or religious stuff.

Not that this matters, but a note regarding the 3 doors on each wall. Lets say the wall you are facing is the north wall it has door 1A,1B and 1C, The east wall to your right has doors 1D, 1E and 1F, the south wall behind you has doors 1G,1H and 1I leaving the west wall to your left having doors 1J, 1K and 1L. As stated earlier They look exactly like the door you encountered at the far side of the bridge.

I look up. What do I see?

Spot: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23

As he takes a bone and gnaws on it.

"But I am always hungry." He also looks around.

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

Sovereign Court

Alissa/Nasty: The room is dimly lit by several glass tiles in the ceiling, other than that there is nothing except what has been previously discussed.

So, if I cast detect magic, what do I see?
