Nakor the blue rider

Advice

Liberty's Edge

Ok. For all you fans of Raymond E. Feist. I'm trying to make my favourite fiction of character of all time come to life in pathfinder.

Help me stat him up. He is such a mishmash of archetypes I don't know where to start.

For those that don't know him. He is a chaotic (slightly mad) old man wandering the world. He is essentially a skilled martial artist, (wanderer archetype seems a prime choice) he can also cast spells , mainly illusions. He is a trickster and con man. And he is a vast wealth of knowledge always able to pull out lost bits of ancient lore.

Where do I start?

I feel like given his backstory, he is basically an oracle. Mechanics-wise he is a sorcerer / monk.
Statwise, he is a demigod. (remember, he is immortal and at the time he is encountered in the books, he is extremely old.) He is on a power level with Pug and Marcos and Thomas.

If you wanted to play him pre-riftwar, as a 1st level character he would be:

Oracle
Charisma 20
Revelation: Sidestep
Curse: Legalistic

As weird as it is, it is possible to go Divine Arcane Trickster. You need Mage hand (Haunted curse) and a 2nd level spell like ability that is arcane. Something to consider.

Hmm. I like it. A lot.

But aside from the name, almost nothing in arcane trickster applies to Nakor.

You also need a 2d6 sneak attack.

What Nakor really needs is an ability: Any attack that misses nakor hits one of the attacker's allies. Not sure of any class that grants that.

I wouldn't worry to much about making him mechanically accurate, as that never works out to well. I'd suggest just making him a high-level bard if you want to keep him within the rules, a gestalt of some kind if you don't.

He's a gestalt wiz/monk.
