A new update of the Pathfinder files for Hero Lab is now available from the automatic updates mechanism within Hero Lab.
This update adds The Worldwound to the existing Campaign Setting #10 package. This package is available for $4.99, and already contains Fey Revisited, Chronicle of the Righteous, Dragons Unleashed, and Castles of the Inner Sea.
This update adds two new Player's Companion books to Hero Lab. The first is Dragonslayer's Handbook, which has been added to our Player Companion #11 package. This package is available for $4.99, and already contains Quests & Campaigns and Kobolds of Golarion. The second book is Pathfinder Society Primer, which is now the first book in the new Player's Companion #12 package. This package is also $4.99, and will get 1-2 other books from the player companion line, to be determined as Paizo publishes more books from that line.
This update also includes player content from adventure path #72, which wraps up the Reign of Winter adventure path, along with assorted bug fixes.
If you're not familiar with Hero Lab, please head over to the Hero Lab page of our website. There, you can download the program in demo mode and try it out. The only things you won't be able to do in demo mode are save and print (although you can see the print preview), so that you can give it a thorough test before you decide to purchase our program.
Another option if you'd like to try Hero Lab is our Hero Lab for the Pathfinder Beginner Box program. This program is free, and does support saving and printing, and allows you to make heroes and monsters from the Pathfinder Beginner Box.

It makes sense, I think, for Hero Lab to support a very popular campaign setting, and the massive level of support for the Golarion-specific books is an amazing thing for a LOT of gamers. That said, the setting-neutral books published by Paizo are available through Hero Lab as well, and other companies can and do use Hero Lab for their own products. As I see it, it's a win-win situation for everyone. The Pathfinder setting is supported and every other company out there has the opportunity to support their campaign settings as well (resources to create Hero Lab files allowing, of course).

There is an increasing amount of 3rd party Pathfinder material available through HeroLab. Time of Horrors Complete is on there and Razor Coast campaign setting either is or is about to be available.

Havoq wrote:Does it add support for SLA's meeting the requirements for PrCs?Havoq, I apologize, but I can't figure out what the abbreviation "SLA", means, so I'm not sure what issue you're trying to report.
SLA = Spell-Like Ability.
There have recently been a slew of FAQ entries about SLAs, which you can find on the general FAQ for the core rulebook.
EDIT: Here's the precise FAQ
The key one is that spell-like abilities now satisfy pre-requisites for feats and, apparently, prestige classes. So, for example:
- Aasimars have Daylight, a 3rd-level arcane spell-like ability. With 3 levels of Rogue and 1 level of any arcane casting class, they can enter Arcane Trickster.
- Any gnome with the standard racial spell-like abilities qualifies for Arcane Strike, even if they lack an arcane casting class.
I've done some work in Hero Lab's editor writing up homebrew stuff for one of my campaigns. Based on that, I suspect that implementing this in HL is going to be a MAJOR pain.

Thank you for explaining the issue. I had seen that FAQ, but I had not realized the connection between that and more generic prereqs like "Able to cast 2nd level arcane spells" - I had only been thinking of it in terms of "ability to cast detect chaos, detect evil, detect good, detect law, or detect magic", which is something that we can't do yet - I knew that this FAQ meant that when we get that working, we heave to test for spell like abilities as well as castable spells.
Havoq, thanks for bringing this to my attention, and Tinalles, thanks for explaining the details. I've added this to our to-do list.

I love HeroLab but it seems to me most of the support is designed around a setting I largely don't use. There are other settings out there and I wish it was more generic and less focused on Golaron.
Most of the Pathfinder material Paizo publishes supports their Golarion setting, so it makes sense that most of HL's updates and new data sets are going to be derived from setting material. The RPG line IS the generic setting. Unless I misunderstand your point, you can just skip all the companion/campaign setting bundles and buy the RPG data sets. The AP stuff (that we get for free) can be turned off in the hero configuration. Am I missing your point?

Of course, the ruling also allows for combos that don't make much sense. For example, an Aasimar who uses the Minor Magic rogue trick to get "Mage Hand" at level 2 can then go into Arcane Trickster at level 4 without even having an arcane spellcasting class.
Of course there'd be no point in doing so. But things like that make me glad I don't have to worry about the implementation details in Hero Lab.

Sorry. I could have done a much better job of asking that question. Thank you to the others for explaining it for me.

*Casts Raise Dead*
Tonight I was trying to make a Herne Druid using Hero Lab but when I went to the races it was not there even though I have The Worldwound checked. Did the Bestiary not make it in?

The Adventure Path Bestiaries do not get input into Hero Lab, but there is the community bestiary and player pack (for GMs and Players respectively) that you can install. You can find out more about them on the Lone Wolf Pathfinder boards.

The Herne were statted up in "The Worldwound Incursion" which is WotR #1 it will not be in Hero Lab, I don't see anything saying they are statted up in the book "The Worldwound" but I don't own that book at this time. You're more likely to get better and quicker answers on the Hero Lab Pathfinder forums, especially since you're posting in a thread about a version that is way past (Version 9.1 or 9.2 is out right now)

Nevermind Andrew, you're right. I am not sure how I missed that last night!
Anyway, I went to check out the data sets but it does not appear Wrath sets are out yet. Thanks for the help. I'll head over to the Lone Wolf forums. :)
