Replacing the same class feature in the same way

Rules Questions

Can two archetypes which replace only 1 similar item in the same way be taken together. Specific example Devilbane priest and divine strategist. Both say you gain only 1 domain but otherwise do not overlap.

Sovereign Court

If they change the same thing it means they are not able to be taken together without some kind of approval from your GM. The only rules allowance is if the replacement is an optional one which interacts different with the rules.

Both archetypes alter the "Domains" class feature of Cleric. Therefore, they cannot be taken together.

So, both archetypes gets only one domain, presumably in exchange for getting something extra (without being a direct replacement), and you think that this isn't a conflict?

No, you cannot combine those archetypes by RAW, and a GM would have to be a fool to allow it.

RAW, no. In this particular case it's not unreasonable, but only if you treat it as the cleric getting one less domain. So if he takes both, he gets no domains at all.

Just as a clarification:
Is it legal for a cleric to get two archetypes that each only remove one domain and are otherwise without overlap, effectively creating a dual-archetype cleric without domains?

Dieben technically not because the archetypes don't really "remove one domain" but rather say the cleric only gets one. However, your GM may still allow it.
