Breaker of Traps and Crypts (Alchemist) question

Rules Questions

Both archetypes fit as the class stuff it replaces are not overlapping. However I just noticed that they both give a similar replacement class trait, that being Trapfinding.

A crypt breaker adds 1/2 his level on Perception checks made to locate traps and to Disable Device checks (minimum +1). A crypt breaker can use Disable Device to disarm magic traps. When determining the ability of a crypt breaker to deal with locks or traps, treat his alchemist levels as rogue levels.

This ability replaces the Brew Potion bonus feat.

This ability replaces poison use and poison resistance +2.

So... would that mean they stack and would grant me say a +12 bonus to trapfinding at 12th level since they are both counting half my level which is normally just +6 at 1/2th of 12? Since usually Trapfinding from two different classes that grant it do stack.

I don't see why they would not stack unless there is a specific rule that states multiple instances of trapfinding won't stack. It perplexes me because normally extra benefits that are the same benefit (IE a Rogue 2/Monk 2 only treats his Evasion class trait as normal) don't conflict but don't really add anything to already existing class traits.

That and the double trapfinding are gained at different levels and are obtained only because you traded the Brew Potion bonus feat and the Poison Resistance part.

I honestly don't see what would be considered OP or BROKEN about such a thing if it allowed the rogue in the party not be stuck on trap duty if at twentieth level you got a +20 to Perception to find the trap and +20 to disable that trap.

Plus after reading it carefully they would stack only because of the wording.

Crypt Breaker: 1/2 his level
Trap Breaker: 1/2 his alchemist level

Where the CB refers to half your overall level with any multiclassing involved.
While the TB refers to half your overall ALCHEMIST level without any non-ALCHEMIST levels if the character had multiclassed.

Scarab Sages

What JuJu Tiki had said and also the second sentence for the Crypt Breaker version.

Quote:

As otherwise there is no point to not including that sentence to the part where it says "add 1/2 his level" not "add 1/2 his alchemist level".

So you got two forms of trapfinding. One is checking your overall level regardless of class, and the other checks on what levels are alchemist. If no multiclassing happens then they should be working together.
