I've seen the stat adjustments for elderly characters, but are there any rules out there for characters who might be children?
I'm putting together a group for a Jade Regent campaign, and two of the PC's are thinking about a powerful warrior devoted to the protection of a child, maybe 11 or 12, who is supposed to be spiritually gifted beyond her years (she's playing a Witch). The only thing I could find would be the 'Young' monster template, but I thought I'd ask if there were any rules out there that specifically governed the option.
Were I to go with the Young template, it will carry with it some pretty substantial penalties, and I'm considering options to make up for the difference - perhaps a bump of 1 or 2 levels and keeping her that way (we don't track experience)?

Ultimate Campaign has rules for younger-than-Core-Rulebook characters. You can see them in the PRD here.

Wow. Thank you for the timely link.
After perusing the rules, I don't think I like them very much, especially nto for the AP I'm about to put together or the character being made. It looks like its all disadvantages mechanically, predicated against the eventual possibility of shedding some of them once a character 'comes of age', which they might never do over the course of an adventure or campaign, and forces them to stick to NPC classes until then. Ugh. I get the impression that someone at paizo wants to seriously discourage child characters.
Since this character is supposed to be an unusual child anyway, I think what I'm going to do is apply the 'Young' template as mentioned before (-4 Str, -4 Con, +4 Dex, small size) and allow the character to be one level higher than the rest of the party to compensate.
Does anyone have a practical alternative, and how would this decision fly in your game?
