Leveling inbetween multi-part scenario in PFS?

Pathfinder Society

I have a character that leveled after the 1st part of a 2 part adventure/story arc PFS module.

It has a 1-2 Tier, 3-4 Tier, and a 6-7 Tier, I guess with 5 being up or down. Can I continue playing my character at level 3 in the 1-2 Tier, or am I forced to bring in a new character or pre-gen?

If I do, the story arc has major penalties for bringing in a new character to part 2 if they hadn't been in part 1, screwing over the rest of the party. Our party managed to only get 2 Awareness points through use of excellent Diplomacy and Bluff rolls, but bringing in a new character gives them 1d10+2 awareness points, completely hosing the party.)

We were under the impression that level 3 was the up or down level, but it isn't.

Also, can you play a character in a different scenarios if you're inbetween a 2 part story arc scenario?

Thanks

If you're talking about a module, you do not level up in the middle of it. You play as your level through the entire thing. If you leave after playing 2/3 of it, you only get 2/3 credit, and you cannot play the remaining 1/3 at a later date.

If you're talking about three separate scenarios, you do indeed level up in between, if you have enough experience. If that would cause you to be too high level for the next scenario, then you cannot play that character in the next scenario. In your example you'd have to be leveling to 8, though.

A level 3 character is permitted to play at any subtier of a Tier 1-7 scenario. The subtier that runs depends on all the characters at the table.

There have been some suggestions that this might change in Season 5. Now would be the time to point out drawbacks of that idea, starting with the present thread.

It's a 2 part scenario with subtiers 1-2, 3-4, 6-7. Thanks for the help!

Yeah, we ran a scenario that was a 1-7 this last Tuesday. Most of us were level 6 or 7 but one of the guys brought his 10 year old cousin, who had a lvl. 2 sorcerer. He played with us in the 6-7 tier. Sometimes people get carried by their party and sometimes they carry the party. In your case, you'll be carrying the party.

FYI, you only get the gold for the tier that is being played. So if the tier is being played as a 1-2, you don't get tier 3-4 gold.

You're only allowed to play one sub-tier away, so a level 2 character shouldn't play in the 6-7 sub-tier (I'm sure this is one of the reasons they aren't making 1-7 scenarios anymore).

@olePigeon: As long as your character is in the level range of the scenario, it doesn't matter. You can play different characters in the different parts, level up in between, play other scenarios in between, whatever.

Ah, didn't know. So many rules these days, you can't figure out when to apply, which one.

Oh, well.
