elementalist wizard confusion

Hi all,

I have a doubt concerning wizard elemental schools.
I've noticed that several spells (e.g. resist energy, protection from energy etc) are listed as belonging to two or more elemental schools.

Being that the case, how many slots am I supposed to use to prepare those spells?

For exemple; An air elementalist wizard preparing resist energy (both an air and earth spell)... how many 2nd level spell slots am I supposed to use?

My first thought was that resist energy (acid) should take 2 slots and resist energy (eletricity) could be prepared on the bonus spell slot. The problem is... you don't need to choose which version of the spell you are preparing. You only need to designate the energy subtype associated with the spell as you cast it.

Suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

It *is* an air spell, therefore, you only need one slot.

The fact that is of other schools doesn't matter.

Not trying to be argumentative here, just explaining further the source of my confusion.

All spells of the earth school are opposed to air spells, so the spell in the example is simultaneously an opposition spell and an air specialization spell.

elemental opposition wrote:
Unlike a normal arcane school, each elemental school requires the wizard to select his opposed element as his opposition school (Air opposes earth, fire opposes water). He does not need to select a second opposition school. He must expend two spell slots to prepare a spell from his opposed elemental school as normal.

Look at it this way.

Look at the spell.
Ask yourself "Is this an air spell?"
If yes, then you only need one slot to prepare it.

Yep, the only time a spell takes two slots is if it is in your opposition school list AND NOT in your primary school list.

Ok, that makes sense.

So what about a void elementalist.
Does he have access to the spells marked as belonging to the all elemental school (e.g. resist energy, protection from energy etc)?
