Favored Class: Prestige?

When choosing a character's favored class, can you choose a prestige class?

easy enough to houserule away though. since you are denying yourself a favored class bonus for several levels if you do so.

No, it says so p31 of the CRB at the end of the section titled: Favoured Class - and I quote "Prestige classes (see Chapter
11) can never be a favored class".
I suspect Half-Elves would be the principle beneficiary of house-ruling this.
