The Sandpoint Devil

Golarion Lore Masters, I beseech thee:

So, I've read the first chapter of the anniversary edition of Rise of the Runelords and have flipped through/skimmed the rest of the book and I was wondering where the Sandpoint Devil was.

I went through some of the old threads, and I read that he appeared in Pathfinder #1, but I don't have that. Does the Devil actually show up in the Adventure Path, or was he just some legend?

The Sandpoint Devil doesn't appear as an encounter anywhere in the Runelords AP, though he's easily added at any of several points. When I ran the game, one of the PCs (a paladin) encountered him solo along the Lost Coast Road.

After slaying it, he got some wagon drivers from town to haul it to Sandpoint, where it was stuffed, mounted and is now on display in front of the theatre.

Stats for the Sandpoint devil can be found in the Inner Sea World Guide. He also gets a writeup in Mystery Monsters Revisited.

Just make him a jet-black unicorn with a blood-red horn and cat eyes. That's the real Sandpoint Devil. (As opposed to the ridiculous, 1/2 upright horse with, I dunno what, snaggleteeth?)

Your words are hurtful! The Sandpoint Devil is MUCH more than an emo unicorn.

If you flip to page 404, you'll find that there's a 1% chance on the Sandpoint Hinterlands random encounter chart. You'll also find that you can find his stats on page 311 of the Inner Sea World Guide.

I don't know why you are all interested in the Sandpoint Devil. We put that vile beast down YEARS ago.....
