what kind of character do you have? You could always just go the UMD route if you have a good charisma and the skills to spare. But I have a feeling you are a monk yes? They are the most common requesters of such things.
Wands require UMD. Do you have a wizard or sorcerer in the party that just doesn't want to use their slots on you, or do you not have one at all?
Does a wand require UMD as well? Or do I just flick the sucker and poof?
Pretty sure he is assuming you have an allied mage casting the wand upon you. Yes the wand would require a Monk to use UMD.

Well, Mage Armor lasts hours per level. You could have him activate scrolls or wands on you for the time being, and later you could purchase him a 1st level Pearl of Power (1,000 gp) so he can cast it on you once per day before you go somewhere dangerous.
