Dwarven Inquisitor favored class bonus

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade

This is my first post please go easy on me. My question about the level bonus, is it necessary to take this every level, do the affects stack? Or should this be taken at higher levels, when it would be most affective?

Add +1/2 to the Inquisitor's level for the purpose of determining the effects of one type of judgment.

Thanks.

1) No, you can choose the favored class bonus you want at every level.
So, hit point one level, and skill point the next.

2)Stack with what? It increases the base level of the Judgement. So, it stacks with itself, as it is itself.

At level two, with both levels using the favored class bonus for, say, Destruction, you'd be treated as level 3.

(nitpicky: "effective")

This indicates to me that I think you're misreading the favored class bonus. It doesn't raise the judgment's effect level by 50%, it raises it by .5.

So, if you were level 4 and spend every level on buffing your judgment of Justice, you'd be effectively level 6 for that judgment.

Yes, I understand the favored class bonus system. I was just making sure that I understood the dwarven inquisitor class bonus, in the fact that taking it every level doesn't really give you much of a leg up, unless you take it at the right level.

The stacking I mean is, at level 2 and 3 the bonus is +1, and at level 4 the bonus is +2. Just making sure that the effective bonus isn't +4 at level 4, instead of just +2. There's a big difference in the math. This would also make this good to choose every level instead of just every once and a while. Thanks.

Maybe I'm the one misreading your statements, but I still think you don't get it.

Now it looks like you think you get +1/2 your current level to the judgement's effective level (so if you take your 4th level favored class bonus it'd be +2 levels, but if you used your 10th level favored class bonus, it'd be +5 levels), but it's just .5 every time. You'd have to take it every level in order to have +2 levels at 4th, or +5 levels at 10th.

It is not "better" to take it at later levels, it's best to take it every level or not at all.

Will do, thanks.

One half to, not one half of.

Ok, just to check something while we are on the subject of Judgements. At 1st level you get +1 to attack from one of the Judgements.

Justice: This judgment spurs the inquisitor to seek justice, granting a +1 sacred bonus on all attack rolls. This bonus increases by +1 for every five inquisitor levels she possesses. At 10th level, this bonus is doubled on all attack rolls made to confirm critical hits.

So, at 1st level it is +1. At 5th level it becomes +2. At 10th +3. Is this correct?

Yes...that is correct
