Shields alternate use

Advice

So I've got this player that's a pacifist cleric that uses 2 steel Shields to block and push enemies. Not a big deal really sept every once in a while he needs to do damage when his exception comes into play and goes offensive. Another player likes to go old school fighter and uses his Shield to attack with due to the shield having spikes wanted to know on any suggestions on amount of damage for Shields types, as well as rules for using them for lethal damage. Also any feats for using them in different ways or attack types?

It's all right there in the CRB. Shields always do lethal damage unless you want to do non-lethal (which normally causes a penalty to your attack rolls). Shields and spiked shields are listed as martial weapons on the weapon tables. If you want to hit with your sword and your shield in the same round, I highly recommend the Two-Weapon Fighting feat. There are several other Shield feats in the CRB and other books as well.

from core, under weapons in the equiptment section:

Shield, light special 1d2 1d3 ×2 — special B —
Spiked shield, light special 1d3 1d4 ×2 — special P —
Shield, heavy special 1d3 1d4 ×2 — special B —
Spiked shield, heavy special 1d4 1d6 ×2 — special P —

see also feats such as: (also from core, under feats)

Shield Proficiency — No penalties on attack rolls when using a shield
Improved Shield Bash* Shield Proficiency Keep your shield bonus when shield bashing
Shield Slam* Improved Shield Bash, Two-Weapon Fighting, base attack bonus +6 Free bull rush with a bash attack
Shield Master* Shield Slam, base attack bonus +11 No two-weapon penalties when attacking with a shield
Shield Focus* Shield Proficiency, base attack bonus +1 Gain a +1 bonus to your AC when using a shield
Greater Shield Focus* Shield Focus, 8th-level fighter Gain a +1 bonus to your AC when using a shield

Note that there is some debate as to whether a character could recieve shield bonuses from more than one shield at a time, with objecters siting the 'two bonuses of the same type not stacking'.

Scarab Sages

They also make really good sleds if you have a snowy hill.

The cleric in question is going to have some hefty minuses. One because he's dual wielding two heavy pieces of metal, and an additional -4 for doing non lethal damage.

Such a cleric would do well to pick up a Merciful light shield.

Playing frisbee.

Our just carry one tower shield and take Improved Unarmed Strike if you want to deal non-lethal damage.

Gold versus a feat. Your choice.

Or really ANY merciful weapon.

You can have a Throwing Snarlshield.

That will have the Performance, Trip, and Disarm qualities.

I have a fighter in my current game who decided that he was ONLY going to use shields, so he's got a tower shield and a large steel shield with spikes for fighting. Fortunately he's got a phalanx buddy so that the tower shield isn't a five foot wall.
