Suggested Gish Builds? Yes, another one of these threads.

Hello, a new player in my campaign is looking to me for help with making a Gish. He has two "simple" desires: end with 9th level spells and reasonably high BAB. I don't know what to help him make. Any ideas? My campaign uses everything by paizo, NO THIRD PARTY. That's really the only limit.

I've been looking at eldritch knight and dragon disciple, but I'm not sure how to make them work.

Its an old term from 1e that means fighter/wizard because they were what githyanki fighter wizards were called.

A character that can cast arcane spells well but can also do well in melee combat. It's a delicate balance.

Use Gestalt rules and have the player make a full BAB melee class and a full casting class combo. Other than that, you can't get full BAB and full casting.

The only real option, AFAIK, is the Eldritch Knight if he really wants all that.

Though, I'd recommend him to consider the Magus even if the spellcasting is lower. With the crafting rules as they are he could make some magical items that require spells he doesn't have access to (with umd he could even craft and make scrolls of spells that aren't on his list).

The best gish for what your guy wants is 1 fighter 5 wis 3 EK 2/4 levels of Arcane archer finish out with EK 17BAB 9th level spells awesome.with a bow capable of antimagic arrow.trick. its.gonna take until 9th level to be gishish. If hes willing to.do it take a look at the hexcrafter magus gish out.of the gate and scaling hexes keep it relative at high level.

He doesn't want to be ranged. No arcane archer. Either way, I think you guys have helped me think of something. Many thanks friends! May you all hate Nickelback for years to come!
