Glitterdust: Two Saves that First Round?

Rules Questions

Victims of a Glitterdust get a Will save to negate it, AND a Will save at the end of each of their turns to end the blindness, which means it's two saves that first round it hits, correct?

Liberty's Edge

Depends on when it hits.

The target gets a save immediately to negate the affect. If they fail the save and their initiative allows them to go BEFORE the caster who cast the spell, they don't get a second save until the end of their next turn (which would be in the following round). If they go AFTER the caster, then yes, they get a second save at the end of their turn which would be that same round.

That's what I thought. Thanks Raptor.

Liberty's Edge

Np. We Birds of Prey need to stick together ;D

Liberty's Edge

After n initial failed save, they get a resale at the end of each turn. Effectively, a failed save condemns the affected creature to one round of the effect. Regardless of who goes when in initiative order, they get a save after their turn.

Scarab Sages

Same thing with Hold Person, right? The subject gets an immediate save when the spell is cast, then another (as a full round action) on their turn.

Liberty's Edge

You bet!
