Plant Companion help!

I was looking over the plant companions are ther further descriptions of what they look like and how they function outside the druid as companions? I building a druid and looking at my options. Also does the crawling vine wrap around the druid or a staff? If I had a wooden puppet could it wrap around the limbs n control it. I can't find further details. O and it says they can't wield weapons unless it states in description otherwise but found no descriptions.

Treant can wield weapons, but it has to waste feats to do so. because it has opposable thumbs. Gorilla and Babbon Can too.
