Can you take Extra Channel multiple times?

A number of the 'Extra' feats related to class features indicate you can take them multiple times. However, the Extra Channel class feature does not include the text about taking it multiple times.

Can you take Extra Channel multiple times on one character, or is it restricted to once only?

Follow-up question (assuming that you can only take the feat once normally): If you gain the Channel Energy class feature from multiple sources, can you then take Extra Channel one time per class, or is it still restricted to one time only?

[edit]
I realize that from a RAW perspective, the lack of the 'Special: You can take this feat more than once' tag, this means you can only take the feat once. This is more an FAQ request if that is an intentional restriction or if that tag was just left off of the feat.

I was going to say, "Absolutely, yes." However, I did a quick read of the feat and was surprised to see that you are correct. In my mind the feat had the special case clause of being able to be taken more than once. Heck, I think I have a character that has it more than once!

Did it change from an earlier printing of the book? I usually use my hard cover for play but am currently looking at the PRD.

This would be good to know, as I was planning on making an Oracle of Life that would only take Selective Channel and then Extra Channel a bunch of times.

I would say no, due to the fact that feats which can be taken multiple times specify they can be. Otherwise, characters could take Dodge multiple times.

Wow. A "no reply required" issued within 3 hours. I guess the intent is that you can only take it once. Well, shoot.

This makes that Cleric trait that gives you +1 channels per day all the more valuable.

Or cross-classing as a Cleric, Oracle of Life, and Hospitaler Paladin if you really want to be a channel monster. :P

Except that its not really worth it, considering that Channel Energy does not stack from multiple classes. Each instance goes off of the level of the class that granted it and nothing more. It was an FAQ for the Core Rulebook a few years back.

That said, there are plenty of reasons to be an Oracle of Life or a Healing Cleric aside from Channel Energy; both the Healing Domain's powers and the Life Mystery's revelations are excellent healing tools.

If you want to be a Channel Energy monster, go Hospitaler Paladin; you can take Extra Lay on Hands as often as you like, and Extra Channel gives the Paladin more uses of Lay on Hands. Plus the Paladin has some ridiculously good healing based feats that combo nicely with both Lay on Hands and Channel Energy; the best that comes to bind is the feat that heals 1d6 additional damage if Lay on Hands doesn't use any of its mercies and the feat that allows the paladin to use breath of life by expending 10 uses of Lay on Hands.

Aasimar Oracle of Life isn't bad, either. Take the Aasimar Oracle Favored Class bonus to count as 1/2 a level higher for a revelation, and apply it to the Channel Energy every level. Don't need two billion channels, when one does so much...
