Does this trait(magical knack) and this feat(spell specialization) wrok together?

If both of these are legally applied to your character would they work together to give your character for the one spell an effective 4 level bump?

So probably not, depending on your character. If you are a Fighter4/Sorcerer1 then it works. For a character only missing two caster levels, they don't work together.

Gifted Adept and spell spec stack to give a level 1 caster a 4th level caster level for 1 spell.

My level 1 sorcerer was doing 4d8+8 damage at level 1 with burning hands

So why is it 1/4 not 1/2?

what do you mean 1/4 not 1/2?

Magical Knack will never help you get above your character level, and the design team has stated that you can't cheese order of operations to try to get around that. However, as Finlanderboy has said, Gifted Adept works fine (so does Varisian Tattoo).

Has to do with Rogue Eidolon's post of a character of FIghter4/sorc1.

Magical knack has the built in restriction that your caster level can never go above your character level if you are benefiting from it.

Isn't Vasisian Tattoo a feat bonus same as spell specailization?

They are untyped bonuses, so they actually do stack. You can also stack that really expensive ioun stone for one more caster level boost, and maybe kill somebody with death knell for one more. I probably missed a lot, but that's still plenty of boosting.

How did you get 4d8+8 from spell that only does 1d4 per level, max 5d4, at first level?

I'm guessing he typoed and did 4d4+8. The extra +8 comes from being crossblooded between the mega-cheesy orc bloodline (+1 damage per dice on all spells--why is being descended from orcs, a race not known for magical talent, strictly and strongly superior arcana-wise to being descended from dragons?) and probably draconic, choosing fire (+1 damage per dice if you deal fire damage). Incidentally, the real disaster is when someone uses the same build on the no-SR snowball spell.

Ok I see what your saying about Magical Knack. Can't be combined with Spell Specailization until at least 5 total HD. Still will be a good combo.
