What Bonuses Go into CMB

Rules Questions

I read the Rules on CMB and I was in a game recently with a player who told me that you get your weapons Enchantment Bonus Added to your CMB.

I read where the Enchantment Bonus applies to Hit and Damage, but no where did it state it adds in to CMB.

In fact CMB States Abilities and Feats + Str and Base Attack...

Is this correct?

They would add the weapons enhancement bonus only if they were using the weapon for the maneuver

So typically disarm, trip, and sunder which can always replace and attack

It's clarified somewhere in some FAQ or errata but my phone doesn't copy/paste for some reason so I cannot post it

Someone will more than likely be along any moment with it though

From what I read it would only be the Specfic enchantments that boost it... The normal + to hit and damage doesnt make sense...

You can houserule it away if that make sense to you. But with a +5 great sword you gain a +5 onus to yor trip/sunder/disarm attemps and that is the rules (as drakkiel said there is a FAQ about it).

Combat maneuvers are all special melee attacks. Any bonuses or penalties that apply to your attacks also apply to your CMB rolls. E.g., a ranger gets to add +2 when trying to grapple a favored enemy.

Sunder, trip, and disarm are combat maneuvers that can be made with weapons. Any bonuses or penalties you have on attacks with your weapons also apply to these combat maneuvers. E.g., if you have Weapon Focus, you get a +1 bonus to disarm while wielding your focused weapon. If you have Weapon Finesse, you can use a finesse weapon to make a trip attempt, adding your Dex bonus instead of Str bonus to your CMB. If you have Power Attack, you can use that feat while sundering; you take a -1 penalty (or more depending on your BAB) to your CMB roll, and add a +2 bonus (or more, depending on BAB, or two-handed weapon) to the damage on your opponent's weapon.

EDIT: I have included below citations for your reference regarding your specific question. Bolded sections are my own emphasis.

CRB, p.467, Section "Weapons", paragraph 1 wrote:
A magic weapon is enhanced to strike more truly and deliver more damage. Magic weapons have enhancement bonuses ranging from +1 to +5. They apply these bonuses to both attack and damage rolls when used in combat. All magic weapons are also masterwork weapons, but their masterwork bonuses on attack rolls do not stack with their enhancement bonuses on attack rolls.

In short, enhancement bonuses are added to attack rolls. (As are masterwork bonuses, though the two do not stack.)

CRB, p. 199, paragraph 2 wrote:
When you attempt to perform a combat maneuver, make an attack roll and add your CMB in place of your normal attack bonus. Add any bonuses you currently have on attack rolls due to spells, feats, and other effects. These bonuses must be applicable to the weapon or attack used to perform the maneuver. The DC of this maneuver is your target's Combat Maneuver Defense. Combat maneuvers are attack rolls, so you must roll for concealment and take any other penalties that would normally apply to an attack roll.

In short, combat maneuvers are attack rolls and are subject to all the bonuses and penalties associated.

I have italicized a line which I suspect might be tripping you up:
These bonuses must be applicable to the weapon or attack used to perform the maneuver.

Is that correct?

Also, anything that pumps attacks rolls pumps CMB.

A Combat Maneuver is an attack.

So, if something gives a bonus to attack rolls(like Haste or True Strike), then it gives a bonus to CMB.

See this blog.

I have a Wand Wielder Magus that uses True Strike to ensure his Sunder maneuvers go off.

As the others have said, anything that boosts your attack roll will boost your CMB. Bless, Haste, flanking, prone target, you name it.

EDIT: Wow, not only did BBT ninja me by like 25 minutes, his post was virtually the same as mine.
