Ok, I've searched looking for a thread that clarifies this, and I've come up empty. The Ninja Trick: Forgotten Trick gives you access to another Ninja Trick for a number of rounds equal to your Ninja level. Some of those tricks, however, have longer durations. If, for example, a 7th level Ninja uses Forgotten Trick to gain Darkvision, then spends a Ki to activate Dakvision (which has a flat 1 hour duration), does the Ninja have Darkvision for 1 hour, or for 7 rounds?

Forgotten Trick (Ex): A ninja with this ability can recall one trick taught to her by her ancient masters. When she uses this ability, she selects one ninja trick (not a master trick or rogue talent) that she does not know and can use that ninja trick for a number of rounds equal to her level. She must pay any ki costs associated with the trick as normal. Using this ability expends 2 ki point from her ki pool, plus the ki cost of the trick she chooses.

Darkvision (Su): This trick allows the ninja to use her ki to enhance her sight, granting darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. Using this trick is a standard action that costs 1 ki point. The enhanced senses last for 1 hour.

In other words, does Forgotten trick give a ninja access to "use" a trick within a number of rounds, but once it's been "used" it lasts for its own duration? Or would the trick end when the rounds/level runs out?

The way the Darkvision Trick is formulated, you get if for the full hour. But whether that is the intention and/or general rule of the Forgotten Trick, I don't know.

The way I read it, Forgotten Trick replaces the normal duration with "a number of rounds equal to her level".

And two posts, two different opinions. :) I should have expected nothing less. I should point out, I primarily play PFS, so I'm looking for the RAW interpretation.

Personally, for a non-PFS game, I'd rule you get the hour for Darkvision, since you're spending 3 Ki to get it. That's a lot to spend for less than a minute of Darkvision (though still worth it if you find yourself trapped in a Darkness spell).

I carry a potion anyway, but sometimes you don't want to draw a potion when you can't see who is next to you, risking provoking twice.

Glancing through the Ninja Tricks, Darkvison might be the only one that calls out a specific duration longer than round/level. Though, this would matter for something like Vanish, if it were activated in the last round of the Forgotten Trick, would the ninja then be invisible for another rounds/level, or just for 1 round?

My point of vue is the RAW for Forgotten Trick that has to be the rules

You get to know how to use the selected trick for a period of time. If you activate it, any consequences of the activation are unaffected by the loss of access when forgotten trick times out.

Shadow Clone lasts for 1 minute/level. You can activate it as a forgotten trick as many times as you want within the one round per level of the forgotten trick, but once activated, it is not dependent of access to the activating trick.
