Is there any magic weapon enhancement to make a weapon a trip weapon?

One of my players is asking to make a sword a trip weapon. Is there any enhancement or cost that could do this without house ruling it?

All weapons can be used to trip. The trip weapon quality just lets you drop the weapon if you end up getting tripped during your attempt.

They mean the special trip ability that allows you to drop the weapon instead of falling prone when you screw up your trip attempt by 10 or more.

I.e. whips, kusari gama, etc...

They are also asking because the weapon enhancement to.hit and damage only adds to trip cmb if the weapon has the trip property from what we read

No, any weapon used to Trip adds it enhancement bonus to CMB roll, utilizing the weapon.

Oh then I am under incorrect ruling. So a trip weapon only helps with not falling prone? What if a monk or unarmed fighter with unarmed strike trips but has a belt with enhancements....does that also add to trip attempts?

Yes, if the weapon used to utilize the Combat Maneuver is the Unarmed Strike.

It did work like you say originally, but there was some errata/clarification by the developers and now you can use any weapon to trip and get its attack bonuses to your CMB. As others have said, the trip quality just lets you drop the weapon when you fail horribly.

None i know of, and i wouldn't worry about it. After the.. ahem.. clarification on trip weapons, the trip ability is pretty much useless. If you can miss that roll by 10 you probably shouldn't be trying it anyway.

The only other thing the Trip property is used for is it can be used for a weapon-based drag or reposition maneuver. Normally, drag and reposition are non-weapon maneuvers but you can make them weapon-based maneuvers if you use a trip weapon, adding any attack bonuses for the weapon (ie. Weapon Focus) to your CMB.
