Dragon Age II Staff of Parthalan

There have been some talk surrounding Hawke from the Dragon Age II trailer. I would believe he would be Myrmidarch Magus from Ult Combat.

How do I go about creating the Staff of Parthalan?

Is it a Greatsword, with a modified look?

I would go with a glaive that also serves as the wooden pole for a magic staff.

I would go with a glaive that is an arcane bond. My choice would be to go wizard/fighter/eldritch knight.

Why a Myrmidarch and not Staff Magus?
