I'm rather new, and I played my first three RPGs at TotalCon in February and only got to registering now. I'm a noob at all of this, but I would love to make my own character. I used a pre-gen level 1 of Seoni, and it went really well. (I actually got her miniature.)
Could someone give me some tips on creating a sorceress? I have slight ideas of what I'm doing, but some areas just confuse me and it's probably because I'm new and younger player. I want a higher charisma but I don't know how to distribute points and etc. Please help?
Thanks!

Could you specify what in particularly is causing your problems? I assume this is for PFS, in which case it uses a 20 Point Buy for Ability Scores if I remember correctly. The link there will give you the table for how much each score costs; you buy each of your Ability Scores but you only have a set number of points to spend. Once you are done you apply your racial bonus.
Also here's a handy Character Creation Outline. It goes over all the steps of making a character. PFSRD is an excellent source over all.
Edit: wow I screwed up those link tags bad.

Here's a guide to playing a sorcerer that might come in handy. It might be a bit advanced for a complete noob, so just ask if you have questions.
Basic character-building advice: Charisma should be you highest stat, then Constitution and Dexterity, then Intelligence (for Spellcraft and the skill points, mainly) and/or Wisdom (for will saves & perception rolls). Strength is a good choice for a dump stat.
Pick spells you can expect to use all the time. Save the 'it might be handy' spells for the Wizards.
Play a human - each level, they can get an extra spell known instead of a skill point or hitpoint, which is kind of a big deal.
