Sword Saint archetype is the ingame cavalier without a mount. Not a fan of it myself. Haven't made any homebrew for a mountless cavalier myself because no player has been interested in it.
Sadly, Sword Saint is samurai only, as the cavalier doesn't possess the Mounted Archer ability, which the sword saint trades away at 4th level.
Now, if I recall correctly the musketeer archetype does not have a mount, but it is a firearms-based archetype. Your Mileage May Vary.

Thanks for the shoutout Teiidae
@Alex: Here's the vanilla Dreadnaught for any race - basically it's a mashup of the Cavalier and some Inquisitor abilities to create an infantry leader type. If the whole Multiclass aspect scares you ignore the conceit and just treat it as a straight Cavalier archetype, which it essentially is...

Musketeer does indeed trade away its mount for a musket or pistol. He gets Rapid Reload for it at level 4, Improved Critical at level 8, and a few other benefits for it as well.
The Emissary archetype still gets the mount, but their whole shtick is "just as good on or off horseback", so you could play an Emissary and leave the horse back at the stables.

If you can use 3rd party stuff, the Inspiring Commander from Rite Publishing is a mount-less, support-focused archetype.

I've been wanting this for AGES!!!! I always loved the Knight class from 3.5 and had really high hopes for a mount-less cavalier archetype but an official one has yet to eventuate.

This could be what I'm looking for. Thanks HG!
